In those still shots, it looked like the first of the 5 signs was "Down". The second and fifth weren't visible.

I wonder if they said "Down with white power now" or something, because they knew that if they walked to the game with only 2 signs saying "white power" that they likely wouldn't get let in the building, or would get kicked out quickly.

I can vouch for the N word being used for unknown black people, but the ones my dad worked with were okay, great in fact.

"I know some good ones" is the phrase that bubbles up from memory. Said grudgingly, as if the good ones were the exception and not the rule. Said defensively, as if he isn't wrong because he can think of ones he admires.

Drove me crazy.

And now he is in a skilled nursing facility that is staffed heavily with folks of color. Many different colors and nationalities. He was a little bit freaked out at first. But hey -- he is getting used to it, and these men and women take such good care of him. His collection of okay, and even admirable, black people has grown by leaps and bounds.

Whew.

People see racism even when its not there. The left are masters at it.

Talk about ignorance and look who shows up. You have my sincere and honest sympathy friend. I hope one day you are able to look back at your bigotry and feel remorse.

As someone who is ashamed to say that is the high school i graduated from last year, as well as participated in sports i can tell you two things for certain.

The chant Hanson mentions is extremely common place (It was never one we lead them in but wasn't uncommon for the fans to chant). And Flower Mound i suspect is one of the most white-washed communities you could find anywhere. This sort of casual and very cowardly racism , sadly i can't even say surprises me.

These are the same losers who would absolutely wet themselves if they were confronted by a person of color.

And the right are blind to it.

Therefore disconnect yourself from the struggle between the labels left or right and take this external position with me, where we try and weigh out what the best option might be for everyone, given all of the arguments. What a wonderful world it could be!

To you, politics is fighting enemies. To me, politics is helping friends. Perhaps the problem with the world is that there's too many people like you. Takes a whole bunch of understanding between different opinions in order to make a world where people with a billion different perspectives can all get along.

When you're done squibbling about labels, there's work to be done. Some people are casually racist, and some people are not. What rules can we set so that we restrict the effects of racism without restricting fairness? I also don't like some of the ways it's been implemented, perhaps we can find a way that works together?!

Or we can throw labels back and forth for a while. I have a bet on about what your answer will be.. disappoint me.

Seriously? You're gonna go with that here? Wow...

Is it really that hard to accept that there's still racism? Yeah, there's reverse racism, too, before you even bring that up Pavlovian style, but that hasn't a thing to do with this.

The story showed no overt racism. Only a photo snapped at the right time. What were the other words? Where are the interviews from the event? Actual eye witness? Nowhere is there actual eye witness to this story. 1 photo and a raciest story created by the news to stir the pot

If this event did actually have racist activities than yes beat the fuck out of the guys involved. But the news story did not present any facts.

I stand with what I said earlier..

Of course you stand by your statement, because you it is what you really want to believe, and you are too lazy / ignorant / arrogant, to assume that anyone who disagrees is telling the truth or doing their jobs properly. Which the news are. Which the school is (belatedly). Etc.

"Lewisville Independent School District (ISD) interim superintendent Kevin Rogers announced that their week-long investigation into the February 13 sign incident was conducted through a variety of means. Those included witness interviews, including Flower Mound High School (FMHS) and Lewisville ISD administrators, staff, students and spectators; an in-depth review of surveillance and game footage; social media research; and cooperative, continued communication between FMHS and Plano-East Senior High School (PESH) administrators."

The investigation concluded ·

..." At some time during the FMHS vs. PESH boys’ varsity basketball game, a student displayed the “White” and “Power” combination of cheerleading spirit signs. It has been long-time tradition that cheerleading signs are used at sporting events to read, “Navy & White” representing FMHS’ school colors and “Jaguar Power,” a FMHS mascot cheer.

· The inappropriate ordering of the signs was displayed for no longer than 30 seconds. FMHS administrators immediately took action.

· Reports indicating the FMHS student section was chanting “White Power” during this time were found to be unsubstantiated"

The kid holding the sign POWER is also holding the JAGUAR sign. so apparently he is flipping between signs hence indicating Jaguar Power.

Mr White just happens to be holding his sign WHITE behind the Jaguar Power. sign guy.

Coincidence / deliberate/ is unknown.

So again
People see racism even when its not there. The left are masters at it.

... Do you even know how long 30 seconds is? Can I come to your next social gathering and hold a sign saying "asshole" in your face for 30 seconds, and then flip it over to say "drink coke" when someone makes me? It would be a fun coincidence for all, I think.

newtboysays...

Yes, the investigation concluded....concluded that the kids did it intentionally and also crapped on the other teams bus after being thrown out of the soccer game earlier for 'inappropriate behavior'. I'm guessing you didn't read the rest of the article where the administration said....

I want to be clear the intolerable behavior these two individuals modeled has not and will not be accepted in LISD. We have always had high expectations for our students and hold them to those standards both in and outside of the classroom. Again, I am disheartened that the actions of these two individuals have reflected poorly on FMHS, LISD and our diverse communities.
For tonight’s game, LISD has added additional security and no signage will be allowed.

So again
Some people refuse to see racism even when its clearly, indisputeably there. The far far right are masters at it.

Hell yeah!

And the kid shitting in the opponents' bus also honestly thought the bus was a porta potty! I bet the bus was like parked right by a porta potty. It's unclear whether this was deliberate or coincidential.

My point is people see inappropriate shitting even when it's not there. The left are masters at it.
