I feel like the 'Why should you vote for Bernie?' question can be answered much simpler and faster with 3 short statements.
1)He's honest.
2)He's not bought and paid for buy millionaires or corporations.
3)He's consistent, with a 26 year record in elected public service of consistent voting/legislating to prove it.

Those 3 simple, easily fact checked facts make him clearly the best candidate for president on either side of the isle in the last 16 years, if not much longer, no matter what your political affiliation, IMO.
Even right wingers should want him over any other choice they've been presented, because he's the only candidate they can trust to do (or at least try to do) what he says, meaning that even if you disagree with him, you have the best possibility of stopping him over other candidates, because you know what his plan is. You can't trust any others to do what they say, but you can trust them all to lie to you about what they're doing, making even knowing what's happening in government impossible with any other candidate.
Just note, all Republicans took an oath to support the Republican nominee at the beginning of the campaign, they have all since rescinded that oath, as if that's a thing you can do. If they won't keep a publicly sworn promise to 'God', why would anyone expect them to keep their word to anyone?
How can anyone have any meaningful input in our government if we can't filter through the lies to even know what's happening?

I have a much more concise reason.

He's not Clinton, Cruz or Trump.

Surely that is sufficient reason?

Yes, it might be sufficient but still a shit reason as it sounds belittling. He's better than that. He's not just the one to vote for due to who's running against him. He's actually someone i'm excited to vote for regardless of who's running. Just my opinion. Clinton on the other hand(if she beats bernie) will be who i vote for NOT because shes worthy(cos i think shes shit) but because she (im guessing)will be the 'least worst' of my choices.

Oh, I agree that he actually seems like a decent candidate and even (shock! horror!) a decent human being.

But then, so did Obama, and he turned out to be a massive disappointment.

I really hope Sanders wins the nomination, and I would love for him to be president.

But most of all, I don't want a Cruz or Trump presidency, because I'm terrified of what that means for the rest of the world (i.e. the bit with me in it)

I can't disagree with you there, but i have to have hope/believe that he is better. If not i may as well jump now. I don't think Canada will have me

Fair point, but Palin isn't running for president. Hopefully she'll end up as Trumps running mate.

newtboysaid:

Sufficient, yes.
More concise, yes.
Better....absolutely not. Palin isn't one of those people either!

I'm guessing if you vote for Bernie, and he doesn't win, then all of his preferences would go to Hillary anyway right? (assuming it works that way in the US). So basically there is nothing to lose in that sense.

newtboysays...

All of his "preferences" would go to Hillary?
What?
This means that if he doesn't win, you think Hillary will essentially become Sanders and take his position on all things?
I just don't understand.

EDIT: Do you mean to ask if she'll get the votes of those with a preference for Bernie? If that's what you mean, the answer is probably no. Many Bernie supporters want nothing to do with Hillary, and won't vote for her if Bernie loses the nomination. She'll pick up some of them, but not all by far. Many Sanders supporters simply won't vote if they can't vote for Bernie, or will do a write in vote for Bernie (in America you can write in the name of a candidate that's not on the ballot).
I hope I'm wrong about that, but it's what I've heard them say.

I have to disagree. I despise hillary but if she wins the nomination i will vote for her as there is no republican i think is a better choice. I think a few Bernie supporters will just not vote but im guessing it won't be enough to make a difference in the outcome. Of course no way of knowing for sure. A poll on the subject would be interesting although if i was polled i might say i wouldn't vote for hillary just to add pressure.

I hope you're right about that.
There's no guarantee either way.
It is likely that, given the option of Clinton or Trump, many of those saying they would never vote for Clinton would still vote for her out of fear of a Trump presidency. That's not a given, though, and is certainly not automatic. She won't just 'get' his voters/votes.
It's likely I misunderstood the original question.

She gets a big paycheck from a big corporation. Hypocrite. I would love to see her monetary donations. Bet it's a big zero!!

I'm not sure how it works in the US.

In AUS/UK, if you vote for say the Greens party, and they don't have enough votes to get a seat, they'll forward their own votes to another party that is likely to win.
The votes keep getting passed down from party to party in a hierarchy.
So in most cases it's worth voting for minor party here as even if they don't get in, they will pass the votes to the next best larger party anyway, and perhaps pick up a few seats for themselves too.

I guess it's completely different. Pretend I said nothing
