Holiday Ride | Chevrolet

eoesays...

Holiday emotionally manipulative commercials have always rubbed me the wrong way.

... and they promptly got into a terrible car crash because grandpa's vision isn't what it used to be...

A little night work?!
My ass.
Looks like a full year long $30000+ Total restoration to me…for a car he looks at once a year.
If that’s really what mom would have wanted, she was either not too bright or was incredibly wasteful.
I also dislike sappy emotional commercials that try to tug at your heart as a way into your wallet.

God damn y'all a bunch of cynical mother fuckers in these comments. I mean, you're not wrong, it's a holiday commercial for a company that wants to make money. Sure. But it is also really well done and, at least for me, touched a nerve with the progression of time, loss, looking back at the "good ole' days," and remembering what we still have. I appreciate this submission, Bob!

If we aren’t wrong, then we aren’t really being cynical, are we?
(Don’t get me wrong, I am a cynical mother fucker….but it’s usually for good reason)

Better be cynical then just lapping up these same 'ol same 'ol regressive marketing snooze-fest ads.

My first reaction to it was, if the father treasures the car and memories (the photo) so much, why not even get a full-body cover to protect it from the elements? This dumb holiday message/ad can't even get emotions right.
