Female Wolf Spider With Babies

When I was just a teenager, I was walking in the park with my very first girlfriend. We had one of these baby-carrying mothers fall out of the trees, passing about 6 inches in front of her face. The thought that had we been moving just a tad faster, my girl would have had hundreds of baby spiders in her hair left us both shivering for a few years.

There's nothing quite as scary as actually seeing something big and dark out of the corner of your eye and then finding out one of them is crawling around on the wall, or under your desk. I live in Queensland, Aus, and we see big wolf spiders like these fairly often, they come in the house if you don't have fine mesh on all the windows.

Come one now. This is a bit *cute, isn't it? At least from the safe distance of not-in-Australia.

I mean.. a spider, seemingly caring for its offspring. That's pretty cool, right?
