Keep dreaming and thinking that doing wrong is right.

I'm sorry you grew up listening to false media saying that being gay is ok. It is not.

Being surrounded by a group or city full of gays still does not make it right.

Ehh.. the point is there, but I actually quite hate the fact that all "straight people" are lumped into the same idiotic pile.. It's the same as saying:

"Dear (Black / White) people.."

Am i going to lump an entire race into one long speech / poem about some stupid shit that some (x) people do? Nope. Why? Because after listening to this poem, my feelings about gay people / marriage haven't changed, still all for it. But I do dislike you.

It's always ok dude. It is.
Right and wrong act as filters, enjoy.

Dear women, you have emotions that cause people to pause and care. When I see you crying, it makes me want to slap you. Some people are forced into their heads to confront their demons when they don't even know what they are...

All of my socks have holes in them and they're colors I can't quite describe and I don't know if I'm even wearing them sometimes. But I know one of my socks when I see it and I know by careful discernment what foot to put it on.

SLAM POETRY TO YOUR FACE, CUNTS.

heterosexual ≠ closed-mindedness

apparently (point in case, above), homosexuals can make erroneous generalizations about entire groups of people based on specific (poor) examples...

I hate shit like this.

Replace "gay" with "fundamentalist christian" (or fundamentalist anything really) and I think that statement might actually come closer to the truth.

Initially I had the same reaction. Then it occurred to me that this isn't "homosexuals making generalizations", it's just one person making really shallow and trite observations. A performer who doesn't have the imagination or wisdom to find deeper truths. And that performer happens to be a young gay person who hasn't yet gotten past the "self obsessive" stage of coming out. I'm guessing it would be hard to have a conversation with this woman about anything other than her sexual identity.

This is the slam poetry equivalent of a comedian getting on stage with hackneyed material:
"hey, what's up with airport security? AMIRIGHT"
"you ever notice how white people dance all bad? AMIRIGHT"

I don't get how this was slam poetry either. Is it because she repeated the same line 3 times at 1:30? Does slam poetry mean repeating yourself, sounding angry and not rhyming?

This performance makes me think that the Women of the World Slam Poetry 2013 competition had no more than 3 entrants and at least one of them was a mute.

I always like it when an oppressed minority goes a bit too far and then suddenly needs to be SLAMMED down hard. Everyone rallies around that cause "Oh the black people are hurting white people that's not right!" Yet for centuries it was fine to do it the other way around.

It's just funny to me, it's like the give a mouse a cookie idea, and the people inside the circle are the ones dolling out cookies.
