Arrested for Fake Peeing

(youtube) "You're not breaking any law but you're being Idiots" Only in Cincinnati do you get arrested for breaking no laws.

Hope they sue him for wrongful arrest. You cannot let people like that get away with misusing their power

Cop is a douche but he has a point. Cops being called and sent around all over the city to stop people from fake peeing. Sure hope im not getting robbed when that happens when someone is fake peeing.

The first bit was funny, but it seems like they were going for the response the last cops gave them. Seems dumb to me, provoking for no reason. Unless Cincinnati copes have a bad rep of abusing power and it needed to get shown.

Needs more context.

Waste of police time. Ofc, the officer in the last clip made it worse by making a big song and dance about it, but I can understand his frustration when he is called out to stop some guy emptying his water bottle.

I think the pranksters are twats, but the cop arresting without cause is unjustifiable. Besides, who calls cops for people taking a piss? The suspect would be long gone by the time they got there. That cop would've had to have seen them then and there, and then got all pissy that he got pranked

What you don't get from this video, and is very likely the case, is that it likely took several hours, and involved dozens of interactions with cops and probably complaints. And likely with the same cops over and over again.

At a certain point, forcing one of the jackass trolls to spend a couple of hours in processing before being released unscathed and uncharged seems a very reasonable way to stop the idiots.

Of course, the trolls wouldn't cut their video to demonstrate how reasonable the police were over the course of the day, but would you really expect anything more? If he had actually been charged, or even just given a fine for idiocy and making a general nuisance of himself, you can guarantee he would have spliced it in at the end of the video.

There's legitimate shit to worry about. Especially where police/public interaction is concerned. This sort of stupidity muddies the water and embitters both sides while achieving nothing positive at all. It's not even funny.

The ordinance states that disorderly conduct is:

any condition which creates inconvenience, annoyance or alarm.

It's been around for decades.

They are not arrested for emptying their water bottles. They are arrested for the above reason...inconvenience, ANNOYANCE, or alarm.

hpqpsays...

Now they should pretend their burglarizing or having a shoot-out. That'll make the cops laugh. /s

Seriously, what a douche/lame thing to do. Some pranks earn a smile, this one deserves a whack in the cojones for wasting valuable servicemen resources for the sole "pleasure" of pranking the cops.

If it drives more views to them, they'll keep doing it cuz I'm sure they'll earn more money than the tickets cost.

But, I think it's hilarious. Think I'd be more upset about the obvious guy dressed as a girl part, since it's disturbing when it's done in such an obvious way...looks like a mentally ill person.

I sure hope given 2 calls at the same time, a cop would pick robbery over pee. And I sure hope that 1 camera crew at one location would not over-exhaust a police department that some crime would have to go unaddressed. Otherwise these pigs should spend less money on donuts and drugs and hire more qualified officers.

See, I always thought if someone is to film you and use that film for commercial purposes, or such, that you would have to sign a release. Does that include cops? Would they have to consent to a release because this footage is used for profit like Youtube cheques?

Also, this prank was funny once, but not so much when they are trying to turn their ass-hattery into a citizen's rights issue.

Fraxsays...

Asswipes like this is why I can't get cops to respond to shots fired in the creek behind my condo. They're too busy dealing with dumb fuckers like this.

Fact: Police depriving someone of their liberty is never an appropriate response to anything besides a criminal offence, no matter how annoying or draining on resources. In an ideal world, or in a community that still behaves like a community and the police actually care about the people as individuals, "teaching them a lesson" would be fine, but in our world, cops abuse power, and to sanction false arrest as an appropriate measure when someone's merely being annoying is more like a cliff than a slippery slope.

OTOH, if by some law they're actually doing something illegal, then they should be warned they're doing something illegal and asked to stop it, and then arrested.

Here's the law, my highlights added:

Ohio Revised Code Title [29] XXIX CRIMES - PROCEDURE Chapter 2917: OFFENSES AGAINST THE PUBLIC PEACE
2917.11 Disorderly conduct.
(A) No person shall recklessly cause inconvenience, annoyance, or alarm to another by doing any of the following:

(5) Creating a condition that is physically offensive to persons or that presents a risk of physical harm to persons or property, by any act that serves no lawful and reasonable purpose of the offender.

(E)(1) Whoever violates this section is guilty of disorderly conduct.

So, were they (A) causing inconvenience, annoyance or alarm? I think annoyance/alarm is fair.

Was it (5) physically offensive? Certainly -- notice the test isn't whether the person is urinating or not, but whether someone is physically offended by it. Seeing someone peeing -- whether they happen to be actors or not -- is physically offensive.

Did the act (5) serve a lawful and reasonable purpose to the offender? Well, he was making a TV bit by being physically offensive and annoying/alarming people, which is useful because it's his job. Does that count as "serving a purpose"? Going 'round in circles here.
