Also, don't forget that silver star and above can currently submit from any source providing they have a non-iframe embed. Starting from VideoSift 5, we'll allow iframe embeds too.

You're already able to submit from any host. I'm assuming that's not changing and that the supported video hosts list is still for newbies only.

It's interesting how much the video landscape has changed over the years. A major factor in the death or (near death) of video providers has to be the 800 pound YouTube gorilla. For a lot of these guys the plan seems to be to stick to a niche - but even there YouTube is probably better at making you money for your original content than self-hosting.

Reuters, I noticed, has decided to just put everything up on YouTube and do away with their own player. Probably a smart economic move.

Game show host names actually do play in -- they will replace the classic bronze, silver, gold, ruby, diamond, crown progression in videosift 5.0. Details are still slim but I understand as a Diamond I will become a "Richard Dawson"

I sometimes post vids from the BBC. Not everything is embeddable, but there are sometimes interesting clips that are.

Dag: Your VS code should be flexible to add any video hosts' iframe code. Just check and approve them when needed easily. Whitelist/Black list if needed.
