If you're talking about the no-longer-top comment which ends, "Yes I realize the video is a joke but that fight is by far the best part of the movie not to mention my childhood", then that alone is enough to dismiss it. It was the least tense fight scene ever because this Darth Maul guy was a nobody in the story, just a redshirt stuntman with makeup. Does he even have lines?>> ^rychan:

Ray Park gets more money if he shuts the fuck up. It's written into his contracts.

I remember in the theater watching that fight and my jaw dropped. Such horrid choreography, all about flair and swinging a sword around like jackasses. None of the finesse, the emotional impact in every swing or the shear intensity of the original trilogy.

On that subject, RIP Bob Anderson. We'll never see good sword fighting in movies ever again now that you're gone.

also i remember reading somewhere the lightsaber arts are a lot like wushu-style fighting, with a lot of flare and movement so as to confuse your opponent about when you're actually going to hit them.

i would like to see the sword fighting choreography that could hold up to this level of scrutiny.

Any choreography that would involve the defender to actually have to block/dodge the attacking sword would do.

Anyway - the Jedi, with lousy lightsabre skills, are still more dangerous than the chronically myopic stormtroopers.

yeah, it's as if they're not actually professional swordspeople or ubermensch with psychokinetic powers.

it's almost as if they're putting on a show for us and actual safety does come first.
