The lady doth protest too much.

Man just when you think Fox can't get any lower they drag out a rodeo queen as a pundit.

Oh wait, with Bush out of office, maybe the Fox viewers were complaining that they weren't getting enough redneck country bumpkin in there daily viewing.

Wow. I am especially horrified by the comments on this video.

"Wow... way to summon the bitter darlin'... speaking from a little experience are we?..."
"Yes, she certainly told us what she did last night."
"Man just when you think Fox can't get any lower they drag out a rodeo queen as a pundit.
...they weren't getting enough redneck country bumpkin in there daily viewing."
"speak for yourself cunt, thats exactly what i want my uncle sam to do to me."
"I know you were really talking about me and what you'd LIKE to do."
"OMG, she TOTALLY sounds like she's speaking from experience."
"Will trade upvotes for said pictures."
"I think she's confusing the American "Uncle Sam" with her own uncle Sam..."

Are you kidding me?

And yet not horrified at the spiel spewed forth on Fox?

Surely you could have saved a little of your (self) righteous indignation for them as well?

^ How is it self righteous indignation to be horrified at comments expressed at the expense of someone else?

She's not far wrong.... and i'm quite sure she's like all the other humans of planet earth in that we don't have a limited supply of righteous indignation and you've got to spend your quota carefully lest you run out early and have to wait for next month's supply.

Honesly if you can't laugh at the EXTREMELY bizzare comparision made by this woman... and chose to take the comments posted here as anything but very casual humor, mocking her failure to see just how innappropriate her 'line' really was, as I believe they were intended, well your taking life WAY to seriously....

"I got a line for ya" it was pre-meditated stupidity... and she was clearly seeking a reaction... well she got one.

If you REALLY have to get in a tiff about something... I submit you should direct it towards the idiot in the video and the casual way she suggests that a woman being brutalized and abused would in any way compare... and then deciding it would be appropriate to make that comparision on national television for kicks...

thepinkysays...

Well, Januari, let me tell you that I completely agree with you. Her comments are very inappropriate and bizarre and were said in order to elicit a reaction. She got a reaction, all right. But if all of these reactions had been like the comment that you just made, I wouldn't have been annoyed. You commented on how inappropriate and ridiculous her remarks were. The comments that I quoted did nothing of the sort. In fact, they answered filth with filth by suggesting that she is speaking from experience, calling her a cunt, a rodeo queen and a redneck country bumpkin (ugly and irrelevant), and making other perverted sexual comments about her. I don't know. Maybe I'm just crazy and humorless. And if you guys thought that her comments about rape were inappropriate or ridiculous, why did you joke about her being raped?

I'm sorry if I seem self-righteous. I just think that those comments are icky and I'm that silly girl who speaks her mind to people who don't want to hear her mind.

My only issue with it Pinky was really your complete omission of any critisizm of her...

You don't like filthy responses to filth.. thats entirely understandable... but it sounded to me like you were coming down on the people here while giving that woman a total pass... and that kind of stinks of hypocrisy... i know your not now but that was my impression from your first comment... More that it was the first word in the title that angered you... and the comments just built on that. (and perhaps rightly so... other than the stereotype i don't see anything saying she was a republican)

Were people over the line?.. that depends... i'm guessing they didn't think so... My personal view is they were absurd responses intended to mimic the absurdity of her comments... and very little more...

In the end i think ourviews on the woman and a good number of the comments are a lot closer in line than they are apart...

No problems with speaking your mind, but you must admit that the video really invited responses that weren't exactly 'rational and reasonable'.

If you put out troll bait, you'll usually catch a troll.
