It's real to the extent that it requires timing and physical abilities, such as lifting, jumping, etc... If they do a great job you don't notice too much, unlike this (although the kids will eat it up).

But, it does require expertise at higher levels or you will get yourself killed if not someone else. Probably, one of the greatest displays in the world of acting or role-playing.
