Orange County Protestors Disrupt Muslim Fundraiser for Women

Disgusting.
BoneRemakesays...

If I was in a center that had this happening and for some weird reason I knew about it, I would be going into the crowed chanting " go back home" and waiving a Mcdonalds Golden arches picture or something from A and W. Just for the pure shit storm that it may cause.

as Lao-Tse said, "Nothing breeds fear like nationalism". This line has always resonated with me, particularly when I see these kinds of xenophobic protests in America (Tea Party) or Germany (Neo Nazis) or elsewhere. America seems intent in proving that it got things wrong... be it national pride, health care, education, the environment, banking, mortgages, the stock market... And still, we follow.

Here in Germany every demonstration/march of neonazis meets a group of counter-protesters, from the political center-rigth to left (and yes, far left), and the counter-protest is always bigger, very often 10 times bigger. When I see videos like this about the tea-party or other far-rights in the usa, i always wonder where the counter-protest is.

DerHasisttotsays...

I just thought about it some more and just realised that I had a very nice realisation: Nationalism will very probably never again get a grip on Germany. That's one thing that'd make me uneasy about living in the USA where nationalism is so rampant and tolerated to a certain degree.

I had a serious WTF moment at 4:55 when the guy says, in a thick accent (sic) "YOU GUYS ARE NO BELONG HERE!" What's that about?

The rest of it makes me sick, especially the ignorant woman who throws out 9/11 as if it's a catch phrase. Way to show you've already forgotten.

I'd like to know which Muslim country most of the fine folks above are currently in the process of immigrating to with their wives, husbands and kids. Presumably they offer far superior living conditions to where you are now, seeing as though you're so enamored with Islamism.

Anyone wearing a headscarf (hijab) or dressed in an anachronistic gown is totally averse to anything Western and has no intention of fitting into our society. They making an overt statement that their religion takes precedence over social cohesion and they have NO place here.

By the way, the protest was against this group, which was not mentioned anywhere in the clip.

I guess fighting for America means you have just as much of a right to be super ignorant as you do to be Muslim and live in the country. The protesters present quite an ironic paradox.

Burn them! Burn them at the stake! Burn them at the stake! Burn them! Our peace loving tolerant god hates your ass and wants to torture you in hell! Burn! Pagan breathe Righteous Fire!

Yeah. Way to go Christians. Good job.

I am in no way condoning what happened here, however as a resident of Orange County I was appalled enough to look into the backstory, as the protest simply seemed far too hateful given the amount of support it had.

From the Washington Post:

"In an e-mailed statement, (U.S. Rep. Ed) Royce said he was angered by the presence of two keynote speakers at the event. Imam Siraj Wahhaj was named with169 others as co-conspirators in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, though Wahhaj was never charged and has denied involvement. And Amir Abdel Malik Ali spoke at "Israeli Apartheid Week" at UC Irvine in 2010 where he said he supports Hezbollah, which the CIA labels a terrorist group."

Again, I think this is disgusting, but the choice of keynote speakers seems odd given the purpose of the fundraiser.

Appreciate the context, Guy. Can you provide a direct link to the story? Thanks!

I think these people should GO HOME. GO HOME and watch Glenn Beck while masturbating over a picture of Sarah Palin... brainless sacks of shit.

Whoa WHOA! Masturbating to Sarah Palin is not a brainless thing to do...it's for Conservatives and Liberals alike!

shagen454says...

Ok, you're right. But, I'd much rather give her a real physical spanking than spank over her. Oh, I bet that would be so great listening to her say, "spank my maverick tookus, spank my maverick tookus, you betchaaaaaa!"

Dear rest of world,

I'm as terrified by these protesters as you.

Signed,

A disgusted human being who happens to have been born in the area of this globe known currently as the United States of America.

And that would be fine for them to protest over. I don't see the point of screaming obscenities at everyone who came to the event, including children.

These are the types of people I'd like to see Anonymous "investigate".

I looked all over the sift and found nothing about Nidal Hassan, the treasonous Ft. Hood vermin. While premeditated murder is fine for the left, I guess loud, harsh language is simply too much for sensitive, politically-correct ears.

Once again, CAIR is playing liberals like a kanoon.

Sure, there were a few yahoos in every group; there are currently 100,000 in Wisconsin.

Those poor women in hijabs are in far more in danger of being "honor" killed by their fathers and brothers than by these protestors.

What about this is Lies QM? This is video footage...they're yelling and causing a ruckus and saying that Muslims are evil. Just Evil doesn't matter who they are or what they do they are evil no matter what. That's insanity...just fucking insanity even you can see that.

sepatownsays...

the shouts of "Go back home!" remind me of a great Stewart Lee joke about a similar situation in London which went something like "they were shouting 'Go back home', 'Go back home!' and presumably they meant go back to Leeds, Bradford, Liverpool, Manchester and other industrial centers that required cheap labor back in the forties".

Yogisays...

Nevermind I can't argue with QM...this country is just fucked because there's people in it who think like him. I give up, you think we support Obama when he sells us out to the Corporations whatever we don't. You think we support Socialism when we're trying to stop deregulation from destroying us like it did in the Meltdown of 2008 fine whatever.

There's too many stupid people like QM out there, we can't even combat them with information because it doesn't matter to them. We're done...give up.

VoodooVsays...

How come the things they yelled don't get classified as "fighting words" and thus, not protected by the first amendment?

I don't see how you can watch that and say that the protesters WEREN'T trying to provoke them into doing something that would cast the protesters as victims
