I like the fact that he called him a jackass, but I dislike the fact that they leaked something that was supposed to be off the record.

Well, he is right. So I can certainly live with the fact that he said it. No doubt, some religious types will be all up in arms over "jackass", but really.. fuck 'em.

I firmly believe politians should never, in any way, for any reason, get in ANY trouble for speaking the truth. No matter where, no matter when, no matter what truth is being said. Ever.

Eg. If Wilson HAD been telling the truth, then everyone muffling about when where and how he did it, should stfu. As it happens he wasn't, so he should be chastized, but that's not my point.

And how, exactly, do you propose to decide what is true and what is not? If truth in the matters politicians deal with was easily discoverable, we wouldn't have any need for politics at all.

At first I thought I'd just find the clip lame, so Obama called it like it is in a casual off-air setting, big deal. What is funny to me though is watching the realization creep across Obama's own face. It's like he remembers the cameras are likely running, even if they aren't live. Then he considers asking if the tapes can be kept off air. Then he finishes with a bit of an oh crap expression realizing no network on earth is gonna keep a video of the president of the USA calling Kanye a jackass private.
