Never got the appeal of Joss Whedon. It must be a 90's generational thing. While I really don't care for musicals, I did like Dr. Horrible, so I guess there's something to be said about that.

But yes, I'll echo Sniper007. Want to see the best version? Stick with Branagh.

On the other hand I think Shakespeare's adaptable to most era's/settings.
I'm going to give this the benefit of the doubt for now. Although it looks more like a Joss Wheldon reunion bash than a film...

Didn't that guy also write that thing about the boy and the girl who all fall in love and stuff and then something happens and everyone's all "Aw, geeze, that sure coulda gone better" only they say it in iambic pentameter so it comes out all classy like when the Queen farts?

He's a pretty good writer, but he's no Francis Bacon.
