sholesays...yes, this is awesome, but i think the video didn't really dig into it proper
i remained unimpressed by the obvious until 4:00 when we got to the properly scifi stuff.. and then it ended
spoco2says...^ Agreed shole... I hate it that the people who get their hands on this tech first so often seem to not grasp what's actually cool about the tech and how to create a succinct video to demonstrate.
A quick demo of barcode scanning and the related content it delivers (what about actually showing the price compare?)
A quick demo of scanning the packaging and related content (more impressive than the barcode)
A demo of a use case of taking a photo of the theatre and then getting the show times.
Could have been done in half the time at most.
And there are other uses which aren't even touched on. (I'm not sure of it's capabilities but I would try...)
"Hmm, what IS that building?"
"What is that statue?"
Does it do plant identification?
What about animals?
Movie stars? What about that thing where in a movie there's a 'that guy' that you see a lot but don't know the name... can you pause the movie, take a photo of the person and get a result?
Really, this video merely touched on what's possible and did so in a pretty damn awful way.
GeeSussFreeKsays...It is videos that get you dreaming about the possibilities that get me going, not something exhaustive and stealing all the fun of thinking about it yourself!
Draxsays...Cool vid
antsays...What song is this?
budzossays...And now boggle your mind in horror at what this means a computer can do when it looks at your face.
Psychologicsays...^ Horror? I'm looking forward to it.
budzossays...Enjoy your panopticon.
dagsays...Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)
This is going to be huge. Still waiting for iPhone version and @spoco2 ability to ID a plant would be awesome- though I'm not sure I'd trust it for edibility.
