After watching the more recent video of Caroline, I'm sure I won't be the only one who is interested to see what she looked like in 2001 :)

There are hormonal disorders and various abnormalities at birth that can cause that sort of thing. My Googly Foo isn't good enough to find it, but about 10 years back there was a female (Russian, I believe) Olympic power lifter disqualified because it was decided she was technically male despite being born with lady parts. Body building may not have such regulations. Women can not normally grow to those proportions without drugs.

Well, perhaps we shouldn't care? I can tell you why I posted this vid though, it's because there was so much discussion on @mintbbb's original post (look at the related link she put in), and I was curious to see earlier footage (or pictures) to compare. Since I was curious, I thought other people might be too.

From looking at related images, her looks are certainly less freakish that some of the other female competitors... she has gone from looking a bit boyish to having a quite pleasant but apparently male face. Some of the other ladies who do this look rather weird.

I did see a discussion on a bodybuilding forum which suggested that the cost of the steroids would far exceed any possible prize money.

One thing that does surprise me is that nobody has mentioned the rather more famous chemically enhanced Austrian bodybuilder.

I have no idea who this person is or why we should care about a masculine looking female?
