eric3579says...Lying piece of shit! Just another corrupt president pawn. I know, not very constructive, but it feels good to say it once in awhile.
siftbotsays...Promoting this video and sending it back into the queue for one more try; last queued Tuesday, June 11th, 2013 10:28am PDT - promote requested by eric3579.
dystopianfuturetodaysays...When these suddenly controversial wiretap/monitoring measures were put into place a decade ago, the controversy was based around the fact that they didn't requie a warrant. The Obama admin has added oversight to the process by requiring a warrant.
I hate to go against my fellow lefties on this one, but this is a bogus scandal.
alien_conceptsays...He's still a lying piece of shit, by default
silvercordsays...If the Obama administration isn't doing anything wrong, then what did Edward Snowden disclose and why has he left the country?
chingalerasays...It may be a bogus scandal, the fact remains who cares? The laws are written by the cunts who run the show-The show is theirs, the president they placed in position is theirs.....Who are they and why are they still breathing and breeding?
I love my country, Americas' the shit- Her government needs a douche that involves blood again-The charlatans with the brass balls the size of Volvos who have run this game on the nation and the world have fucked the planet long enough-Wake the fuck up, take names and inscribe them on bullets perhaps?? The talking about it does shit-Start by not making purchases for anything but food, using gas and utilities sparingly, dump your cable packages and take your fucking heads out if the television-Proactive is to cut-off their money supply AND THEIR MEANS OF PROGRAMMING-Suffer yourselves a bit for a change, real suffering brings real change, everyone on the planet is either worked to exhaustion, too uneducated/uninformed (street-wise included), and too lazy from poisonous foods and habits to be of any effect-Get healthy, body follows the mind-
Uhhh, we need to impeach this fucking cunt on principal alone.

chingalerasays...Because the shit THAT serious and the boy has a martyr complex?
If the Obama administration isn't doing anything wrong, then what did Edward Snowden disclose and why has he left the country?
radxsays...He certainly talked the talk, didn't he...
Then again, all this reminds me of the good old days (pre '68) when the Allied forces were still reading most of our (as in "German citizens'") mail and listening in to innumerable telephone calls, all by hand. Ahhh, those were the days...
To have all your communications analyzed and stored automatically by a bunch of algorithms running on a virtual machine in some remote basement is so awfully technocratic, don't you think? Desperatly needs a human touch.
On a more serious note: we've been fighting tooth and nail for almost a decade to get rid of telecom data retention over here, and to see the clandestine mirror image of it laid bare for all to see is... rejuvenating.
The Man will pay us a visit later this month. It'll be interesting to see if any of our officials have the balls to tell Obama how his NSA puts even the Stasi to shame, where surveillance is concerned.
dystopianfuturetodaysays...@choggie
We are great at throwing tomatoes from the mezzanine, but what would we do if we found ourselves on stage when the lights come up. Who knows? Who cares? Let's throw more tomatoes! ....and I say this as one who has thrown many a tomato at Bush, Hillary, McCain and Mitt Romney.
If the way we do national security is a problem, then it's systemic, because the NSA pretty much done nothing else but collect intelligence 24-7 for the last 60 years.. They've used the system as it was intended to be used, yes, but they've also abused the system.
I'm sure there will be much caterwauling in 2016 about invasion of privacy, but once the dust settles, the crown will still weigh heavy with the burden of national security, and President Hillary, or Ryan, or Rubio, or Paul will find themselves backsliding into old way out of sheer necessity.
Same as it ever was.
If there is a problem with the way we do national security, we aren't going to fix it by calling people cunts and dramatically intoning high school level literary allusions. If we are going to fix it, it will require thought, discussion and hard choices.
Let the rest of them throw tomatoes while you and I fix this fucking system. What do you say, old sport?
President Choggie, how would you restructure the NSA in such a way that it can remain effective at it's job whilst minimizing potential for abuse?
chingalerasays...Yo Dystop:
My first state of the union address would include costumes, for starters, worn henceforth and according to level of corruption of current members of congress and senate: Data would be of course mined from our resources (those stalwart ass-grabbers of the distinguished intelligence community we have to thank for the dirt we would dredge and release), IMMEDIATELY,!....every phone call, every email every bit of naked boat-parties and teen-aged Thai prettyboys there for all to see…THEN decriminalize all drugs and release all offenders to their respective ends and relatives so charged in the past 100 years, immediately.
I’d make it mandatory that everyone be able to read and write, and provide the necessary means-
Two chickens in every pot
I’d tell everyone the real reason we’re in Afghanistan and will stay the fuck there is for their Lithium, because the world needs batteries to go with the new technology and to go fuck themselves if they don’t like us protecting their poppy fields from angry 4rth century thugs screaming , “AKBAR!”( i.e., I would disclose the actual motivations behind the current clusterfuck..) Oh, I’d have a monthly picnic on the white house lawn holiday, offer federal monies to female athletics, and outlaw fast food chains, billboard advertising, and landlords (I’d work to return ownership of land acquired through unsavory deals by oil-rich cocksuckers, anyone assoc. with any bank scandal in the last 50 years, etc. to the open market for restricted development based on projected models for our world in 50 years)
Just getting started, I’d fuck shit up is the answer to your question, jump-start the place based on the original doc and maybe get another 100 years out of it..
chingalerasays...Oh, and everyone has guns
bobknight33says...The Dems and Rups are all the same. Behind their ivory doors they don't give a fuck about the constitution and even less about you and me.
Vote Tea Party
lantern53says...Gee, some people are beginning to see Obama for the lying POS he always has been.
Eureka
direpicklesays...Warrants that have NEVER been denied, and a number of warrants that would be IMPOSSIBLE for the court to have actually looked into.
Edit: That is, they're warrants in name only. It's a rubberstamp court. There is no actual oversight. And everything is "secret," so it is impossible for an investigation to be carried out, and it is impossible for citizens to petition the government regarding it. The justice department moves to quash any attempt to move any of it through normal courts in the name of national security.

arekinsays...Nice thoughts there, but seeing as the President cant just pass laws to do any of that, you would be a person on the throne shouting orders that no one is listening to. Meanwhile congress is passing the laws they want to pass and laughing at you.

xxovercastxxsays...Part of the problem is the collective populace is as two-faced as its representatives. We get all gung-ho about our rights during election season, then some putz lights his underwear on fire and we go full-on red alert panic mode.
You can't be both completely free and completely safe and you can't please a nation of all bark, no bite cowards. Shut up and take my civil rights!
HenningKOsays...Obama's reaction to this whistleblower will determine whether or not I ever listen to him again. He should be happy we know now.
Fletchsays...Aye, there's the rub. Who's at fault for successful candidates who become disappointing office-holders... candidates who make promises they, alone, don't have the power to deliver (thereby just saying whatever it takes to get elected), or people who vote for said candidate, actually believing he/she can/will do everything they promised to do? So many (all?) of our elected officials, including Obama, are simply best-of-a-bad-lot, emotional, or litmus test selections. "Hope" was a brilliant campaign slogan. What else can we do?
You want to impeach Obama, choggie? (@chingalera) Why? We probably dislike him for very different reasons, but he'd just be replaced by another pod-Pres, no assembly required (strings pre-attached). I could get behind a Grayson, Warren, or Kucinich, but the machine would never allow such a monstrosity to exist, as it's still trying to self-correct from the last two deviations. Like you said, nuke it from orbit, double-tap, start over, same docs. Only way to be sure. Hopefully it won't come to that, but I have little hope for a country more familiar with McDonald's dollar menu and Kanye's Twitter than said docs that started it all. Is our children learning? Nope.
@dystopianfuturetoday Lefties don't see this as a scandal. At least I don't. Scandal or not scandal is not the issue here, and I think the term diminishes just what has been more fully illuminated in the last week for many people. The way the government of/by/for the people/people relationship has devolved into warden/inmate; the way money has infected and rendered ineffective our political process; the complete dissociation of electorate and elected, the lie that is representative government; the treatment of those who risk everything to expose abuses of our privacy and other freedoms (all legal, as interpreted by the abusers); Patriot Act... greatest product name ever marketed. For me, this was the straw. I've had it.
"If we are going to fix it, it will require thought, discussion and hard choices.
Check. Check. Public will bears easy choices. Pen or sword? Now, there's a hard choice.
Nice thoughts there, but seeing as the President cant just pass laws to do any of that, you would be a person on the throne shouting orders that no one is listening to. Meanwhile congress is passing the laws they want to pass and laughing at you.
ravermansays...Do people really think the president is anything more than a social figure head?
The reason nothing has happened is the running of the country really has nothing to do with him.
All he can do is apologise or justify.
lol.... like you could ever democratically vote for reducing the power and influence of the powerful and influencial. Silly rabbits! Who do you think you are?
lucky760says...Maybe now that he's in office he's privy to information that Candidate Obama wasn't.
It's difficult to feel compelled to do what is necessary for public safety against the public's and your own natural opinion to the contrary.
Because he's the hero that Amurika deserves, but not the one it needs.
poolcleanersays...We're ruled by pod people. Every candidate is a good guy, even the ones you disagree with, but then they get turned into pod people and are evil. Yes, every president since... not sure when, but they're all evil.
not_blankfistsays...I guess the obligatory "I told you so" is in bad taste, but...
