Bicycle & Bus Near Miss

And that, my friends, is why, if there's no bicycle lane, it's legal and the right thing to do to ride in the MIDDLE of the first lane so assholes don't do exactly this and kill you.
What a dick. I hope a complaint was made that goes on his employment record.

The linked article says that it was indeed:

Municipal Services Minister Meegan Fitzharris said the driver would be counselled and a note placed on his file.

"The footage was sent to the driver's depot manager who has interviewed and spoken with the driver and reviewed CCTV footage from the bus," she said.

"The investigation is now complete.

"ACTION will send an apology to the cyclist."

Wow, that has to be the first "I'm a cyclist, look what this asshole did!" video I've seen where the cyclist did absolutely nothing wrong and was completely following the law.

Not only did the bus driver almost squash him, but he "underpasses" the other traffic and barely avoids running the red light. Most likely through excessive speed. He should have gotten more than a note on his file...

You must not be a cyclist. I'm shocked at how many times I hear how people think a cyclist is in the wrong when what they are doing is perfectly legal and they are doing it to keep from dying. I see many videos of cyclists come through here, most of them are doing perfectly normal things when the BS ensues.

Actually, no, I'm not. I'm also not a driver any cyclist will have any video of as I drive around bikes like they're suicidal morons. I'm seldom wrong.

The biggest problem I have with most bike videos I've seen is they usually get edited down to show the cyclist in the best possible light. I know, for a fact, most bike riders (note not calling them cyclists) haven't a clue what the laws around cycling are, and wouldn't care if they did. Another attitude I find prevalent is the "I have the right of way, therefore I'm indestructible" one. There are shit drivers out there, but if you go toe to toe with them, "being right" is meaningless...

You know that "for a fact" do you?

I'm curious as to why you haven't used your immense psychic powers to win the lottery, or at the very least to make Trumps head explode?

Because I suspect "I know, for a fact" is actually closer to "I have a completely biased opinion based on a few experiences"

Nope, based on observation over 31 years of having a driving-centric jobs of one type or the other.

PS. I tried using my power to win the lottery but suddenly realized I would be hunted down by the Government. So I keep a low profile now, and just spit my troof on tha Interwebs, yo.
