brycewi19says...I love anything that takes Apple fanboys down a notch.
This Onion vid = success!
dagsays...Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)
If this wasn't The Onion I probably would have been fooled for a little bit. Epic.
"I'll buy anything if it's shiny and made by Apple." - that's me.
I want an "I'm a Mac douchebag" bumper sticker.
13741says...I'd always struggled with how removing the 2nd mouse button could make a Mac more user friendly, but now everything is perfectly clear!
EDDsays...Ha ha, those predictive sentences had me in stitches.
Anyway, I'll go out on a limb here and say that this isn't far off from Onion's "Gillette: Fuck Everything We're Doing Five Blades" in 2004, which, as many I'm sure will know, was followed by the actual five-bladed Gillette Fusion in 2005. I think that a tech not unlike this will be implemented in iPods and other iWhatthefucknots in which texting isn't one of the primary functions sooner than you know.
And please dag, don't- every time you say that, a little part of me shrivels up and dies inside. Didn't you hear what the lady said near the end?
EDDsays...Oh yeah, and on a separate note - have the ingenious OS X creators figured it out yet that people might need to retrieve separate files from the (Recycle) Bin?
Because last I checked a mere couple of years ago on a then almost brand new Mac laptop, there was no way to restore or drag&drop a single file out of the Bin - one could either restore all the files to their original locations (imagine what you'd do if it's a couple hundred of them) or empty the bin, or permanently delete all the other files that you didn't need at that particular time and THEN use the Restore All option on the single file. Truly genius, the simplicity and usability.
Zonbiesays...'It's still uncertain how the Macbook Wheel will work in the business world, where people do actual work, instead of just dicking around' LOL
The Sodoku killer joke cracked me up!
thinker247says...Good stuff. *hugs my Macbook*
The Sudoku Killer was awesome. Especially since I spent the last hour finishing a few of them. Upvote!
rottenseedsays...i still don't get that whole 1 button mouse thing. At first it was because they didn't know, but now I think they're just being stubborn. I mean I've got 5 fingers on either finger [oops: hand] and I can handle at least 4 buttons on a mouse. Plus, as an ex-computer aided drafter, I can really appreciate the scroll wheel.
9364says...I love it! I want one! Not!
I don't own anything 'apple' and I don't ever plan to. The Onion has done it again.

The "only one mouse button" thing is a an outdated myth. Of course you can right click on a Mac. Some old school hard core Maccers choose not to as a matter of principle.
maatcsays...I am always impressed by how well these clips are produced.
This one especially with all the little details like the fake laptops, the on-screen demos, the backdrops and so on. Surely this can´t all have been done in post. Just amazing.
Gabe_bsays...That email the guy writes to his friend looks a lot like my attempts to email or chat on my Touch. Stoopid portrait format keyboard.
mkknyrsays...lolz@ predictive sentence technology
gwiz665says...Hahah, wonderful predictive sentences:
"
Aardwark (...)
The abortion went well
The ass asked for a better absinthe
The ass brayed at the moon
"

Except that it's not really... everything is still designed with one button in mind. The mice you get with macs are one button, the laptops only have one button... yes you can plug in a two button mouse, but it's the default to have a mouse with one button and no wheel.
Two buttons and a wheel for me (Actually, my mouse has 4 buttons and a clickable wheel, but I don't use the others)... Using a mouse with no scrollwheel now really... REALLY bugs me when I'm working.
fungiblesays...Jesus, spoco2. Either you're trolling or an idiot.
Macs have accepted two button/scrollwheel mice for eight years now.
And yes you can restore single files from the trash. You always could.
No wonder Macs and Linux have such bad reps among the windows crowd. Windows people try them for a total of 5 seconds before deciding they can't stand to use anything but what they already know. Even if it sucks.
I like this video, nonetheless. It's payback for the Zune phone, which I guess was warranted two years ago.
13757says...Mac Wheel, eh? "There's nothing more simple, than a single giant nipple"
(I was going with "pimple" for perfect rhyme purposes but the freudian fetish there got me)
bamdrewsays...'The aquamarine lifevest was unpopular.'
'The ass asked for a better absinthe.'
'The attractive peanut farmer graded the term paper.'
'The awning covered the agile aardvark.'
'The babbling baby asked the aardvark for some absinthe.'
Deanosays...Sounded a bit crap but after watching I am very impressed by the quality of the props and filming. Note the typically realistic pricing

Geeze fung, either you can't read or you're an idiot.
I KNOW they can accept mice with more than one button, I NEVER said they couldn't. What I SAID was that it's the default position to have ONE because that's what you GET with your Mac.
Geeze.

^You're 50% correct. The default setting on Leopard OS X is for a single button configuration- but the mouse supplied with Macs (mighty mouse) is a two button mouse. So you just have to go into the controls and enable 2 buttons if you want it. (I do).
