American Cop In Canada Wishes He Had His Gun Because...

Now you're bringing your fucked up shit to my country?? For fuck sake, I hope this looooser gets barred from ever entering Canada again. He should not be a fucking police officer because he would have murdered those guys if he had his fucking gun.

In Calgary, It is practically custom to ask visitors if they have been to the Stampede.
The Calgary Stampede, if you haven't been, is one of the biggest Rodeos in the world. It's the event that Calgary is known for.

Everyone from Calgary asks if you have been there because they are proud to boast of it and almost everyone who has been has a great story to tell.

He's the other part of this to me. If he had had a gun and shot those men, who would be there to claim that they weren't being agressive? He's a cop he knows how they work, he'd coach his wife and then they'd get off with a double murder.

By the way Canadians...stop being so damn nice, it's obviously very threatening.

The funny part is: To help promote the Calgary Stampede and encourage tourists to come back, they had people walking around with free parking vouchers for tourists. If they looked like they were out of town, they would ask if they had been to the Stampede and would get free parking for the day.

/facepalm

I hear things like this... and i'm really not going to spend any time validating the 'facts' behind it. The bottom line is i completely accept that this played out pretty much exactly as described.

Whats really sad to me is that to the people who think owning and walking around with guns able to 'defend' yourself at a moments notice is just grand... this won't change their thought process in the slightest... it wouldn't have changed it if the 'officer' had murdered those two men in 'defense'...

They'll take this as some kind of liberal assault on their freedoms and it'll be class dismissed as they go on to teach that to their children.

This is the first I've heard of this story, so it can't be that viral. I've only heard one side of the story, so I'm not going to even comment on it. What I'd like to know is why do the TYT commentators and people here assume that if he had a gun he would have shot them? The majority of reported incidents of self defense with a gun, the gun is not discharged.

It's been widely reported in Canadian news: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/story/2012/08/08/calgary-nose-hill-gun-stampede-police-us.html , and I think even on the BBC. I was in Thunder Bay (two provinces away) and I heard about it early last week about it. So it's pretty well known in Canada. >> ^jimnms:
