eric3579This train conductor wants nothing to do with 'going down with the ship'. He's more an 'every man for himself' type guy.
newtboySeems like he did the right thing, saving not only his own life, but probably a few passengers as well.
PaybackThe "dead man switch" basically means as soon as he left the cabin, the train would have started to stop, just in case anyone should think about claiming he left his post and contributed to the crash in any way.
Also, his actions galvanised people far more effectively than any intercom message that most people tune out anyway.
RedSkyHe should take some notes from the Costa Concordia captain. You don't run through the train, you jump off it, give an interview and write a book.
rancorsays...At risk of stating the obvious, no, you don't want to be in the driver's seat while t-boning a lorry.
lucky760That's where he was heading. The microphone is at the back of the train.

transmorphersays..."HEY GUYS THERE'S CANDY ON THE FLOOR"
KrazyKat42says...He was going to warn people in the cars further back I think.
serosmegThose weren't passengers he was warning. It was all of the Polish train drivers on board.
