It only recharges you to your normal maximum of 1. If you're sitting over your maximum, you won't get a recharge. Hit zero, wait 2 days, and you'll be back at 1 again.

Instead of recharge, think of it as a cooldown. When all your power points are consumed, your there is a two day cooldown before the abilities are available again. The cooldown is only started when you hit 0.

I have 10 points, and I fear spending them. What if I need them later? This rough economic time has me scared!

This is the wrong attitude! You need to spend those points to stimulate the Sift. Let's say you promote an unsifted video: That video gets better exposure and thus more votes, which in turn moves to the front page and creates a new star point. Then people leave thoughtful commentary in the video, some of which is applauded more than fifteen times, and creates more power points for everyone. With enough thoughtful spending we can beat this recession!

What you say makes sense! But someone else should do it, I can not be the savior for everyone! I EARNED THESE POINTS! WHY WOULD I GIVE THEM AWAY?!
