No, I don't think so. Might have been a temporary issue. Can you drop us a link to an example.

If you go to this killed video here:

and click the comments link under the video, you will be redirected to the original submissions comment section here:
http://videosift.com/video/Bill-Burr-Relentless-Women?fromdupe=Psycho-Robots#comments
so you never see the killed comments under the killed dupe sift.

I can confirm this is broken

There was a discussion going on a dupe video, where I was going to help troubleshoot if the changes to allow a submitter mark a video as a duplicate and now I cant see the comments!

Yeah it's sucks, huh?? I don't really dig the comments lost on dupes either-Some heated or otherwise interesting threads lost in the ether..

Not lost, just not displayed on the killed as dupe vid displayed with ?noredirect.

It is still possible to find them, but not easy if it was a while ago.
