I just noticed it with the racist WB cartoon now blogged on the ST page. There isn't anything in the code directing it to autoload and it really is a huge annoyance with it eating up bandwidth when you aren't even watching it, particularly with more than one on a page.

I hope this is just an oversight on their part. Let's hope they fix it soon.

Quite a big bug oversight - I don't even want to look at my own playlists (my love for a good Google documentary is biting me back in the ass!) There's no escape from the buffering too - I've checked FireFox & Safari on OSX plus FF and IE on XP...it's definately at their end!

it's doing it with google video too. as I was reading your post i noticed that the coal black video was loading. I haven't verified this with youtube yet. I just checked the queue page and only the google video preloaded, not the ones from YT.

It's doing my fucking head in and my computer's groaning under the pressure.

If it continues for a while Lucky: is it possible to allow a profile 'listing size: short | full' for the Queue & Front, too? That way the embed isn't there on short, so a Sifter can click the title to see the full video & comments (although: you've already got a lot on with the new features!)

Pssst: I noticed a small fault with the profile listing switch (that I quoted above) - when clicking between, it concatenates the address, instead of replacing it. So if you switch between listing views a few times, you end up with this long URL (without the #vids shortcut).

yeah, for me it is not only prefetching, but also playing a snippet of audio from the very beginning. WHICH IS REALLY ANNOYING.

This is annoying - we're awaiting a response from our contacts over there - I'm sure it's not something they have implemented on purpose, and will be fixed. (pretty sure)

If not, we may have to go with a thumbnail display system, like Digg.

I am haviung this problem "'This video is currently not available. Please try again later' instead of an initial preview." in embedded player, but no problems on video.google.com.
