Automatic Upsizing of Video Sizes

Sift pillar KronosPoseidon's first and second ST posts educating the community about how to go about up-sizing your video embed sizes got me thinking and I finally acted on the thoughts that ensued.

Effective already, any time you submit a video, the width and height dimensions will automatically be resized so the video is the maximum permissible size without you having to do anything at all. This will work with possibly 100% of embed codes, but let's just call it 99% in case someone decides to get extremely creative with the embed code format.

Thanks for the idea, kp!

Oh, yeah. Comedy Central embeds won't get upsized because they don't work. If you notice another host for which upsizing fails, let us know here and we'll single them out as well.

Quality. And, regarding "Sift Pillar KP", I would like to turn your attention to this comment.

So, are you calling kp a "shit piler?" I don't know about you, but hey we're all human and in fact even animals do the same. It results in an unbelievable mess if you try to spread it out instead of stacking it into a neat pile because your mobility is just crippled with pants around your ankles, if you know what I mean.

I think I am the only one who dislike this bigger size. Is there a way to set the original size (not bigger, not smaller, not fullscreen, etc.) as an option? I have a small monitor (1280x1024) and I like to have video on my right side with my Web browser (800 pixels width) stuff in the left side. Here's an example with the bigger sizes: http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/9254/ants1280x1024ra2.gif (see video is cropped!). Please put an option to resize bigger, use original video sizes, etc.).

Also, is there a way to have embedded YouTube video spawn YouTube, when not clicking on play button, like the old ways?

Enlarging videos show more pixels which I hate!

Ah, the problem, kp, was that embed is not from comedycentral.com, but thedailyshow.com. I fixed all those and it seems there are very few outliers remaining with non-auto-enlarged dimensions due to malformed dimension values.

Very sorry, ant, but for things like this that benefit near 100% of the viewership we usually have to bow to that majority. The embed codes are stored with their dimensions, and implementing an entire framework to support modifying embeds on-the-fly to user-specific settings would be a daunting task. (Very glad to hear you're browsing above 800x600 now. Yay!)

Can't you add an option to set whatever sizes especially original/normal/unchanged size?
