Optimism and pessimism have nothing to do with being atheist. Of course, that's only if you're atheist for the correct reasons. That being said, I'm an atheist.

I third the middle finger irritating me, but I'm pretty sure that's what snaremop wanted and any kvetching about it just makes him feel like he is "sticking it to the man." Which in this case seems to be 20 - 40 something professionals with a pretty wide opinion of what's acceptable. We don't have any strict avatar rules, and even if we did I can't think of a good way to encapsulate something like that without being ludicrously restrictive, BUT it sure as hell doesn't do anything to help with the level of discourse on the site.

I'm quite religious and don't see that as a problem. It's just discouraging to see that everywhere I go, people are considered to be "stupid" if they do believe in some sort of religion . . .
