Yours is pretty excellent. It's not professional-grade like @Sublime's, but his are in a different category of carving.

I'm still hoping a few more people are just late-comers like yourself. Otherwise, picking the three winners will be easy.

Thanks for that. No hard feelings at all. Please accept my apologies as well if I seemed a bit brash. Glad to have a heated discussion in a (mostly) civilized manner.

I just submitted mine to the list, but I have nothing on the guy who made the walking dead pumpkin

Bummer more people didnt participate :

Hey sorry about whatever we were arguing about earlier too, I tend to get riled up easily these days because no one likes to argue with me anymore it seems (perhaps I should go to law school?) and when I get started I really enjoy the argument for the sake of arguing. Nothing personal chief.

Sorry for the inconvenience, @<a rel="nofollow" href="http://videosift.com/member/Sublime" title="member since October 27th, 2011" class="profilelink">Sublime, but I've fixed your comment. (We have a lot of filters in place for brand-new members because we get a lot of spam.)

Those are some phenomenal carvings. Did you carve freehand or transfer a sketch? Do you use any professional carving equipment?

Thanks.I created the rick grimes stencil on the computer using picture editing software. It took a couple days to get it looking right but then I printed it out and transfered on to the pumpkin.I used a basic pumpkin masters carving kit.If anyone is interested in the Rick Grimes pumpkin stencil ill add a link. The zombie girl can be found by searching "bicycle girl pumpkin stencil" on google.

I can't seem to find where in prefs.
>> ^blankfist:
If you go into prefs you can turn that back on. I think dag turned it off by default because it was adding too much load on the servers. You can also enable the thesaurus which is a pretty nifty tool, as well.

Yeah, it's not there for me either. Probably turned off.

I'm sure it takes a lot of capacity--which cost money.

I can live with out it (although a thesarus would be amazing, astonishing, astounding, awesome, awful, eye-opening, fabulous, miraculous, portentous, prodigious, staggering, stunning, stupendous, sublime, surprising, wonderful, and wondrous).

If I think of anything I'll let you know. I only just got into the books on a recommendation from a friend, then a couple of weeks later they announced the tv series. I've only managed to get to book 3 so far, cos I don't have much spare time to read nowadays. Clash of Kings is absolutely amazing, you'll love it!

I also just jumped on the Game of Thrones bandwagon. I'm so into it that I had to pick up the books as well - just finishing the first. You like all the stuff I like but way before I discover it. Any tips on what I should be watching/listening right now?

In reply to this comment by alien_concept:
I'm so glad they've cracked it over there, their album is sublime! Now just on tenterhooks for their second, but they're still touring 2 years later, grrr. Thanks so much DFT :

This beautiful album has become a part of my summer soundtrack in the Northern Rockies. *promote

Hachi the most loyal dog! I know of his story; I'll have to watch this movie with my son

Brokeback Mountain was brutally depressing.. I uh, won't be watching that one with my son anytime soon, lol.

In reply to this comment by berticus:
brokeback mountain, which actually sent me into a major depression for a few months

and a japanese movie called Hachiko Monogatari that i saw when i was about 15. i thought it was practically ipmossible to find, but what do you know -- someone's put it on youtube! i'm going to have to re-watch it and see if i have the same soppy reaction 15 years later ;

In reply to this comment by UsesProzac:
What are the other two movies, Berti?

In reply to this comment by berticus:
there are maybe.. 3? movies i can think of that have utterly destroyed me and made me cry almost uncontrollably, and this was one.

bjork was just sublime.
