INCEPTION - 10 more days!

The wait is starting to get a bit unbearable.  Seriously, I am SO HYPED for this movie.  The first reviews are starting to pour in, and not surprisingly, they are overwhelmingly positive.  Lots of Kubrick comparisons.  One review compared it to Rififi, which is the best heist movie ever, and one of my favourite films of all time.  Sweet Jesus.  I need to see this movie NOW. Who cares if this summer has been so crappy for movies so far -- all people are going to need to remember a few years from now is that this is the summer that Inception came out.

It does look good. I'd be careful about relying on reviews though - I hated many well-reviewed movies and liked alot that got horrible reviews.

I hope it doesn't suck. I don't think videosift could handle it.

i find when my expectation reaches limits that no normal human being could ever equal,i am always disapointed.
but nolan has a knack for telling stories with subtlety, even when dealing with complicated plotlines.
for his sake i hope he delivers on this movie because sarzy may just become the shooter on the grassy gnoll if nolan drops the ball.

The other thing I didn't like about it was the marginalisation of Batman. You know, the main character. Apparently Ledger's face-pulling was a whole lot better...

I think it will suck. I only say that because every movie I looked forward to this year disappointed me. Secretly I hope it r0x0r my b0x0rz.

I was sold the day I saw a city curl into itself like it was fucking Halo.

I agree, farhad. Not sure why I think this (though i agree about movies this year), but I just get bad feelings. Guess I am generally skeptical of movies that use the "dream-to-real-life" device--seems like a really facile way of just doing whatever you want as the storyteller.

But who knows... I will see it immediately. and looking forward to discussing it with y'all.

Have you seen Paprika? That actually had a pretty similar premise to Inception, and I thought it was quite good. I mean, it was nowhere near the face-melting awesomeness I expect from Inception, but it was above average nonetheless.
