Oh boy, months and months of this bleeding programme now. Heartwarming for the kids I know (and also a slightly weird act) but it just reminds me that the quality of televesion is increasingly thinly spread.

Why do they cut away from the gymnasts sooooo much? It made me angry, i REALLY don't care about looking at the judges and crowd.

If you think this is out-of-this-world-unbelievable then you haven't seen professional Circus acrobats and mostly Chinese acrobats. Seriously, I do gymnastics myself and although this was a great performance, I've seen much better ones done by professional circus artists and Chinese acrobats. Let's analyze a bit - human jump rope is an old trick that is being used a lot by breakdance, freestyle dance crews. It's really not that complicated. Alright, the triple back was impressive, but again - many Olympic gymnasts can perform this. The one arm hand stand was nice but again - I've seen this trick being performed by other top world gymnasts. So yeah, all in all - good, but not THAT GOOD!

Sure, I've seen better stuff out of the Chinese gymnast troupes (or even Cirque du Soleil) - but I think it needs to be evaluated in context. These aren't professional or likely gymnasts; these are British teenagers who probably have a lot of other pressures and activities in life.

So what I expected was "cheerleader" level moves/dance. Instead, there was some stuff that, though not "world beating" or something, demonstrated a lot of skill, practice, and talent. And it was very well tailored and presented for the venue.

The over-the-top sappy emotionalism completely ruins these shows for me. Good act, though.

Dude, you reference world-class athletes and OLYMPIANS for Christ's sake--as in a handful of people in 6 billion. Who exactly is it that could do this better? Pilobolus? Your Chinese gymnasts? One the girls in this troupe is TWELVE. When Branford Marsalis plays the fucking saxophone, you don't stand up and walk out cuz "He's no Charlie Parker." Ridiculous.

I can't upvote this. Gymnastics was good, but everything else was terrible, the music, format, editing, crowd, hosts, judges, the list goes on...

just read that simon made 69 million EUR in 2009 with his fucking shows...

Not only was the athleticism of these gymnasts stunning, but it also gave me a nice existential crisis to watch this while eating a swiss cake roll!

hmm... should I feel sad that the people in the theater have never gone to a circus? Its a good performance for a troop that has no commercial experience yet, but a very average performance for one that has.

And no I won't be totaly unfair and compare them to cirque du soleil.
