Can be a warning for the "candidate to banishment". Being tased prevent him from posting anything for a week, and all its attempt to comment within this period are changed to "Aaarg !" or some sort of pain scream.

Uh... did anyone try to calmly explain the site to this guy, or at least redirect him to the FAQ before banning him? Or was there some larger issue aside from him being confused? Were we perhaps a little too quick to ban with this one? I mean, from all I see, it seems as if he was just confused as to the nature of the site... perhaps a little crazy maybe, but really, just confused.

@raven: as far as I've noticed, the standard procedure is ban problematic newbs, and unban them if they let dag know they have understood the mistake.

and this works, I guess, since if they send insult mails instead, they would have been problematic users, while if they do apologize, they have learned something they wouldn't learn as well otherwise

There's a distinct difference between the types of insane - Take choggie's (no offense, my good man)brand - humorous, intelligent, good-natured and a bit cryptic.
Then there's this guy - he's obviously no-shit-for-real insane. I did explain to him why he can't downvote, and he told me he knew that, but still says VS as pro-torture.
I told him "Um, sift ten videos, then you can vote it down." To which he responded with "I know the previous because when they REFUSED my "vote it down;" in the interests of science, I attempted to "vote it up."
He then proceeded to tell us to go kill people - and he wasn't joking about it. May I point out the following excerpts?
