poolcleanersays...I live in a location bereft of this mode of transportation. Enlighten me. She was holding up the train?
Bruti79says...Yeah,
I don't know where this was shot, but if it's a place where the metro isn't extensive, like one or two train lines, a delay like that puts everyone else behind off schedule.

Dr_Qsays...This is in *France by the way. Looks like the RER B ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RER_B )
bcglorfsays...nope, it makes you a considerate person that thinks it worth taking action to stop an individual disrupting everyone else for their sole gain.

Paybacksays...Yes, think of it like a horizontal elevator. It won't go unless the door is closed.
The issue compounds the longer the train sits there, as further along -at least in NY, iirc- there are junctions where more than one train cross each other, so that timing becomes hyper-critical. All Hell can break lose during high-volume use.
The proper etiquette would be to leave her friend and then wait at their stop down the line -which is douchey-, or choose to vacate the train and wait for the next, which was decided for her.

budzossays...Yes it is like a horizontal elevator. I lived near the top of a high-rise for the past several years until recently. One of the worst things about living there was people holding the elevator door open during the trip down. It's so inconsiderate and self-centered. Considering you can let the doors close and just call another elevator that will be there within seconds.
Second most annoying thing is people who plant themselves directly in front of the elevator doors, ESPECIALLY if they're standing with their dog. Some people can't grasp the logic that you let people off the elevator before getting on.
