"Trump has no desire and no capacity to lead the world'

I'm guessing someone is popping a neck vein about now.

*promote the naked truth (in how the west now sees the US, at least).

"Some will cheer the decline of America, but I think we'll miss it when it's gone." Too true. Schadenfreude will only get us so far.

I wonder what the chances are of a united European leadership stepping up to the mark.

And it's well known that there's no other western power ready to step in.

Which is why this commentary affirms that the US is ceding power to Russia and China.

In the US, the central government cedes power to the States. In the world, there are other strong central governments who will step into the power vacuum. The weaker European states will be forced to react to the paradigm shift.

ChaosEnginesaid:

Well, given there isn't any kind of united European leadership, I'd say "none".

Don't get me wrong I despise Trump but why didn't that statement come from one of the other 19 countries?

Well, I suppose he kinda explains it in the video, the US has, post ww2 been the guiding star of the west, being both separated in a unique way, and a steadfast ally, and the, by far, most powerful nation, they could afford and permit themselves to stake out the course and push a little harder than other nations. if , say france or belgium or whatever were to "take the lead" on an issue like north korea, the response would be "You and what army?"

I agree 100% with this video, the west has simply lost its leader.

Entirely true, but not entirely unexpected. America (and by that I mean the leaders) has spent so long stomping around and declaring itself the leader of the free world that unilateral action without US approval has become somewhat rare.

I'm sure a lot of American's are fed up with the absurd cost of doing business as the leader of the west of course (both financially and in terms of lives lost/time spent), but it leaves an uncomfortable vacuum when the POTUS checks out of the game. I also suspect that many countries are wary about Tump's erratic reactions to whatever they do.

Kudos to Uhlman for saying what a lot of folks were thinking though.

Soooo let me get this straight even though I am by no means a fan of Trump but have watched with shock the depths to where the Clinton Obama media will sink to attack him.....just what good would a statement on the obvious North Korean problem do?
Put pressure on China and North Korea as Trump is already saying and doing?
Does this guy ever actually "listen" to Trump or does he just tow the line and ignore everything Trump has said that is correct and only worry about Trumps tweets like the rest of the media?
A statement would be nothing but grandstanding and utterly useless in accomplishing anything.
I guess when you are a reporter you think words are the ultimate
power but sometimes they are only spouting off at the mouth.

newtboysays...

What pressure, exactly, is he exerting against China or N Korea?
As I understand it, he talked to the Chinese leaders for 10 minutes and declared this problem more difficult than anyone knew, like health care, and had no suggested solutions.

Also, yes, a joint UN statement, especially one with threats of sanctions, has been useful in the past to move nations in the direction we want them to move....or to isolate them like Iran. Instead, you seem to be defending Trump's lack of leadership by implying he would never uselessly grandstand....um.....have you seen him in action? Useless grandstanding and spouting off at the mouth is about all he does.

Um, in case the accent didn't give it away, this news broadcast is from Australia. Stop blaming the "Clinton Obama media" - they have nothing to do with it. This is how the rest of the world views Trump.

Have you ever "listened" to Trump? The amount of bullshit, lies, and self contradictory statements that comes out of his mouth - not just from Twitter - is staggering. You can't just cherry pick the things he said that's "correct", and ignore everything else.

The media you speak of is overwhelmingly liberal biased and I don't for a second doubt they take some of their cues from Americas media.
As for Trump tellling other nations to pay up for defense or telling it like it is in the climate deal and other common sense yet outrageous as viewed by the brainwashed masses ideas ..
Yes I can see why he is unpopular but he is trying to do what he was elected to do and not win speaking contests on the world stage.
As a canadian I'm pissed off to no end how we the public are supposed to suffer while well off politicians make stupid deals that result in our hydro rates tripling so they can impress the "other" nations about our commitment to saving the earth.
We are in a time of change as Justin Trudeau puts it and well it's just too damn bad for us regular folk so suck it up.
If we really want everyone to make fancy useless speeches maybe Trudeau could offer acting lessons as well as outfit the world leaders in costumes.
