eric3579says...AER: Throw Your Gopro
newtboysays...Great idea, but you can buy a nerf vortex for $10, hollow it out, and put your gopro in it.
These guys have obviously practiced their throws to be able to keep it pointed in the right direction and not spin. They did far better than I thought they would.
*quality low tech advancement in high tech photography
siftbotsays...Boosting this quality contribution up in the Hot Listing - declared quality by newtboy.
ChaosEnginesays...The two key words there are "vortex" and "spin". A nerf vortex WILL spin, whereas these guys almost certainly designed this NOT to spin (probably at the cost of aerodynamic efficiency).
I am seriously tempted.
My only worry would be losing the damn thing in the trees!

Fairbssays...you mean like every model rocket that I ever built and almost always on the first launch to the only tree in the middle of a 40 acre field?

ChaosEnginesays...Yep.
And inevitably on the highest branch that won't support your weight to climb out and retrieve it

eric3579says...When i used to play disc golf i put plenty of disc high in the tree tops. A wrist rocket was always something i carried just in case. If you are in the snow im guessing you would also need to carry the projectiles.
Yep.

newtboysays...I did exactly the same thing, but I used my tennis ball slingshot that I would bring for my dog. It carried 3 balls. I saved many a golfer's disk back then.

bareboards2says...Nobody is going to comment on the title? Nobody who skies like this is truly a "poor man." Not having a lot of money is not the same as being poor.
Just sayin'.
antsays...*timeshift
siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Timeshift) - requested by ant.
Jinxsays...Very cool effect.
eric3579says...How he made it
ChaosEnginesays...Hadn't seen this before, but I disagree.
A friend of mine earns less than $10000 a year, but he travels the world skiing (well, splitboarding actually, but same thing). He buys the cheapest bulk food he can, and lives in a tent most of the year.
You'd be amazed what you can do if you decide to put your passion before literally everything else.

bareboards2says...And he is not a poor man, then, is he?
He may not have a lot of money, but he has a buttload of choice.
Poor people don't feel like they have choices.
Money isn't the only way to determine poverty.
I'll bet your buddy doesn't describe himself as "poor." That guy is RICH.
