RFlaggsays...I seriously cried when he started the "I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father" bit...
siftbotsays...Self promoting this video and sending it back into the queue for one more try; last queued Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017 4:23am PDT - promote requested by original submitter RFlagg.
articiansays...I like more respect given to source material, so this looks seriously terrible to me.
UnfitBitsays...Would seem fitting for the Walkin Dude to be posting of his exploits. Hollywood remix of the story seems to take many liberties but one must hope The Writer has blessed and guided it still.
jmdsays...These trailers are horribly done. First of all.. whats with the 8 second condense trailer crap in the begging showing you what you are about to watch? Are they seriously that afraid our ADD is so bad we will stop watching 1 minute into the trailer missing out on a scene that would change our minds?
Second, holy god damn spoiler age batman.. this thing pretty much revealed everything in the movie. Looks great but I'll rent it on blueray..next!
Zawashsays...*actionpack, *promote

Adding video to channels (Actionpack) - requested by Zawash.
Janussays...Same here. I've been reserving judgment, but this trailer makes that rather difficult to continue doing.

RFlaggsays...NOTE:
The movies are a sequel to the books. We can not expect things to be the same every single loop
, and you are trying to fit a 7 long books into what... 3 movies and 2 TV series? Plus covering a bit of the graphic novels and expected changes...
EDIT: Appears the spoiler tag doesn't actually work, though it is listed in the FAQ... unless one can see one's own spoilers...
notarobotsays...I'm so excited for this!
(Please don't suck!)
Paybacksays...Nah, you spoiled it for me too.

Mordhaussays...I like the casting choices, but it looks like they took a lot of liberties with the story. I'll have to watch more trailers before I get a solid idea.
Mekanikalsays...There better be some Blaine.
00Scud00says...Blaine is a pain. But if we resurrect George Carlin to voice act him that could be fun.
I'm cautiously optimistic about this, they've clearly taken liberties, but then most of what I have seen could still fit into the lore of the books.

SDGundamXsays...Great use of the watch music from the classic western "For a Few Dollar's More," probably my favorite gunslinger movie of all time (Clint Eastwood in his prime as the Man with No Name).
Final duel from that movie which features the watch music (spoiler alert if you haven't seen the film yet):

moonsammysays...I don't know that Carlin's voice would be the right one, but doing so wouldn't necessarily be an issue for the character of Blaine. Seems reasonable to have a computer simulation of a particular voice rather than a voice actor specifically acting out each line. I'd argue however that if we're going to resurrect someone to voice Blaine, let's go with Alan Rickman. Just the right blend of civilized / polite and deadly serious / menacing.
Edit:
I've been a fan of the books from sometime between 3 and 4, and love most of the story. The last three books lost me some, as they felt quite different in tone. Even Wizard and Glass felt a bit of a miss, though it was a solid story in its own right. I frequently avoid watching trailers for films I know I'll see, so as to avoid spoilers and being mislead if the trailer happened to be poorly made. I plan to see this movie, and originally came here for the comments exclusively; having read them, I chose to watch it. I get the impression that the actors treat the characters well, and they feel like good interpretations. McConaughey's Walter is hard to read with what little we see here, but I've generally liked him in other things.
My biggest worry is that visuals all seem too clean, and the more sci-fi direction bothers me some. To me Mid-World always seemed like a character itself. An ancient thing, being stretched thin, fighting to hold itself together and losing. High tech doesn't feel right there, like the extreme entropy would have rendered it all non-operative. There was some tech here and there in the books, but most of it was broken or breaking down.
