Lowensays...Awesome! In all senses of the word.
EndAllsays...*quality
siftbotsays...Boosting this quality contribution up in the Hot Listing - declared quality by EndAll.
EndAllsays...Don't forget to check out this one, too.
If we could replace the music videos on MTV with ones like this and the one above, the world would certainly be a different place, methinks.
I like how auto-tuning these great scientists and speakers gives a whole new generation a cool way to absorb these lessons.
rebuildersays...The greatest thing about these videos is how they manage to be ironically funny as well as emotionally and intellectually engaging at the same time. That's rare.
asynchronicesays...I can't upvote this enough
BenyBensays...This is very nice!
E_Nygmasays...this makes carl sagan sound like kermit.
Fusionautsays...I like the first Carl Sagan one better!

PostalBlowfishsays...Awesome video. Technically, though, not a symphony.
edit: I can't help but think this technique could be used as an effective educational tool.

joopsays...Sagan loves his turtle necks
rottenseedsays...*humanitarian just because their focus is on educating the layman on the wonders of the universe. I remember almost tearing when I first saw Cosmos in a high school physics class.
siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Humanitarian) - requested by rottenseed.
Almanildosays...I love that it's Bill Nye who got the line "billions and billions of stars", not Sagan.
Throbbinsays...For all the awesomeness in this video, I kept thinking about how much I fuckin hate Akon.
deathcowsays...this strikes me as seriously cool
Phoozsays...If there were a Carl Sagan fan club I'd be in it. Also a Bill Nye one.
Paybacksays...If Kanye, TPain, and Akon can make millions doing this, I don't see why smart guys can't.

I never grew up on karl sagan, so i only know him from the sift, but i always thought he reminded me of something in the style of his speech. And that's it, you've hit it. He reminds me COMPLETELY of kermit.

It's because they prefer a telescope with a 24" mirror over a car with 24" rims

RhesusMonksays...The first time I saw this video, I was a first year law student, lamenting that I hadn't taken the road not traveled. For about a week straight, I would play this as soon as I woke up to get right and face the day. Sometimes it brought tears to my eyes. Right now, I am writing this message in my high school science lab, with the video playing up on the overhead. My students asked me why I became a high school science teacher when I have a license to practice law. This is my answer.
