bobknight33says...Great post. Thanks for the sift. Lot of evil done in the name of good.
My_designsays...This shit always makes me sick. Needs to stop.
hpqpsays...This is as stupid and counter-productive as NCLB. And it's what happens when you try to run society as a capitalist business.
MonkeySpanksays...Just vote the Mayor and the chief of police out.
Yogisays...>> ^MonkeySpank:
Just vote the Mayor and the chief of police out.
This program is the result of a systemic problem. Voting in a new Mayor or police chief to fix police abuse would be like trying to fix the economy by voting in a new president. It's just going to crash, over and over and over and over and over.
mxxconsays...That's why NY and NJ ACLU released a cellphone apps http://www.nyclu.org/app & http://www.aclu-nj.org/yourrights/the-app-place/ that records police interactions and automatically uploads it to ACLU's website so that if cops try to delete that recording from your phone, there's a backup copy.

Jinxsays...Seems to me a big part of the problem is police looking to meet some sort of quota. Shouldn't police performance be related to the level of crime and not the number of arrests?
