Holy SHIT!
Somone from YT offers:
'Early model ZSU-23 cannons (especially ones on Shilkas like this) had overheating problems where, due to the fire rate, the receiver and barrel would get hot enough that the rounds would cook off in the barrel, causing an unstoppable cascading burn of fire. Also could have been failure of the trigger system due to poor maintenance.'

Why in the hell did they start turning the turret while it fired? It was pointed in the safe direction, then they freaked out and nearly killed everyone there! YOINKS!

I think the term is "latitude zero", aka an infantryman's nightmare. Like the German 88, quad .50's in Vietnam, or 1980's Iraq and their AA guns on berms fending off Iranian human waves.

I don't know that they turned it, the gun on the right side stops firing (possible jam) and the second keeps going. Possibly the sheer force lifted the gun and spun the turret.

Interesting hypothesis. I would HOPE that a tank turret has enough weight and control that it wouldn't just spin from the guns off center force, but considering the lack of control over the guns and age of the tanks, you may be right.

If you check out the alternate angle link that grinter posted, it's actually from within the gun. Looks pretty out of control to me.

Given that usually the guns would be acting in tandem, and that the turret spins to the left and elevates as the left gun blazes away, it's the only theory I've got. Well, unless the gunner hit the "deathblossom" button... *grin*
