Plane crash scene from the movie "Flight"

intense scene. oh, and
* * * SPOILER ALERT * * *
Mobiussays...

You should put a spoiler alert because you are pretty well destroying the movie for anyone who has not seen it yet. This is the best scene in the whole movie and it is posted as a "clip "

bah.

I already knew Zemeckis could do a crash scene well from Cast Away, but dayum. Now I want to see this.

Also, while I recognize HOW he lands the plane is a spoiler, and that this is likely the most memorable scene in the entire film, I'd challenge that the trailers kind of already ruin the inverted thing anyways. I didn't see anything here I wasn't expecting, I just never got around to seeing this one because buzz was mixed.

I love how many of Zemeckis' films don't feature a main antagonist. Forrest Gump, Cast Away, Flight... he seems to really enjoy atypical storytelling.

Very well shot and entertaining... but I kept thinking: planes don't work like that... physics doesn't work like that... that can't happen... who opened all those overhead bins? Why is that kid still playing on the escalator? etc...

I haven't seen the movie, and frankly I typically think any sort of human drama about response to a super unlikely disaster that never actually happened is lame.

It's too easy to make a movie that would be interesting if based on a true story, but isn't.

But then I saw this clip and now I want to see the movie. So; well played.

This is one of my favorite films, and I haven't actually seen it yet. I have it reserved as soon as it gets into the local library.
Not even for scenes like this (which are fantastic), as much as the core concept.

Amazing individual performs beyond human capability while in the shadow of one of humanity's most damning curses; addiction and substance abuse, and is threatened with the worst punishment for the greatest action.

I literally know nothing of this film beyond that, and what I saw here, but that right there is a phenomenal example of true drama. I want to hug the person who came up with this script to absolute, breathless death.

Saw a fascinating article in Smithsonian Air and Space magazine (I think) which basically outlined that the inverted roll thing would have never worked in a real runaway jack screw trim failure (which is what killed all the unfortunate people on that Alaska Airlines Flight).

Still, a great movie scene once you suspend your disbelief.

Having seen the movie, while the beginning was pretty well done (as well for setting up how the whole incident went down), I found that the movie dragged on for some reason. There were several instances where I just kept wondering when this is going to end or when this is going to come to a conclusion. The content of the movie is pretty good. But IMO, I felt that it could have been done better if it was shorter. Am I the only one who thinks that?
