McCainiac Provokes Muslims at Obama Rally

McCain supporter Charles David Ficken descended upon an Obama rally in Raleigh, North Carolina with a 10-foot tall picture of Barack Obama in East African attire, shouting the United States doesn't need a "Muslim-leaning" person for president. While exercising his free speech at the rally, so too did several dozen fiery Obama supporters. - Huffington Post

Who gave thicky a placard and printer?

It would not be so sad if it was not just so so wrong.
You can have a Mormon republican candidate but not a muslin.

Mmm...religious intolerance, meet Freedom O. Speech.

First off the guy is either stupid or has a lot of guts to go to the competitions rally and put forth such a controversial idea.

I'm guessing it is a symptom of what it takes to do something like that, but why don't people like this have a good answer prepared for when people ask them.

How about "This placard is questioning the potential affect of questionable associations that have been made public about Obama's past. It is specifically questioning the strength of Obama to stand strong against Muslim countries that are currently hostile to the USA since people like myself feel that he will be complacent in protecting the USA against such threats. I understand that Muslim's are not all violent, but I am unsure about Obama's resolve to act against people that I feel he may be influenced by."

Of course the best response to such a person should be to either ignore them or put to them a similar scenario from the past which shows that what they are worrying about really is inconsequential. For instance many Muslim countries are most militant to other Muslim countries (Iran Iraq war); so wouldn't that mean that Obama may end up being more militant than McCain instead of less?

Something to think about.
(Of course expecting some people to think logically might be a stretch)

yeah, it's his right. it's almost my right to respond to him.

if i were to say your mother was an abortion happy slag who happened to make a mistake and forgot to abort you, that would be within my rights, but i sure as hell hope you would be slightly offended and possibly respond (preferably in a non-violent way)!

his right to free speech comes with responsibilities, like owning up to the ideas he is promoting. it is not a shield against criticism.
