Never turn your back on a cat...

The big ones would make quick work of you; but the small ones, the ones in your house; they're just biding their time...until your back is turned and then...POUNCE...lol

From Gizmodo.

Geek: because, the text around it references how villagers in India stove off a series of big cat attacks by wearing masks on their heads facing backwards...Clever.

Send me your email address and I'll send you pictures of my arms. That's all you'll need.
Catching her on video means I have to be ready for the random attack that is intentionally sprung when it's least expected with a video camera turned on and pointed in the right place....that won't happen.
I should try to get footage of her chasing our dog around the yard though, it's hilarious and happens a few times a week.

OK. Give us your address then. Or maybe it is easier to record a video to share online?

Just practicing their hunting skills, gotta keep them sharp.

You can play peek-a-boo with any house cat, mine never pounces with claws or teeth, she's just play hunting. If I do the same with a toy, she'll ravage it to "death".

They do the same to each other when playing quite often.

Can your cat come over and explain how it's done to my cat, please?

Mine (to be honest, it's really the wife's cat, but I'm here with it all day) loves to sneak up behind me on the couch and wait for me to put my arm behind my head or scratch my neck, then she goes at it with all she has, full claws and teeth. I'm pretty torn up most of the time, thanks to her.

Better buy me a motion activated video camera then....or is telling you she's 1/2 Persian enough for you to just know she's nuts?

HA!!! If the wife read that comment, she would find a way to find you and make you pay for the mere suggestion!

Hmmm did you play with your hands and feet in the kitten age? It's quite difficult to stamp that out later on

We were mostly very strict but couldn't resist playing under the sheets as a kitten. There's zero chance of disciplining her now when she does it to our covered feet, I tried for a while but she just can't comprehend it. There's no connection between that act which she thinks is 100% ok and my attempt at discipline. As far as I can tell, she just thought I was batshit crazy to start up at her for no reason.

Really, we have her because she's just trouble. An elderly couple had her as a small kitten, and she would stalk and viciously attack them, nearly toppling the man repeatedly, and they had to get rid of her for safety.
I didn't help by play fighting with her as a kitten either.
Yeah, there's no stopping the offending behavior at this point. I've tried for years to no avail. She also seems to think I'm nuts and I just go off on her for no reason....clearly attacking me is long standing accepted behavior, so what's my problem?

Well in that case, kudos for taking her in and putting up with being mauled Hopefully her ageing gradually reduces the amount of pain you have to live through!
