Dude, science and common sense tells me that you can balance a coin on a flat surface.

It makes sense that something akin to an elastic foundation would confirm to support its load, which is much less weight than its limit.

The bristle base is just large enough to support the inertia and weight of the handle. Only on a flat surface.
