Man Installs SatelliteDish, Accidentally Kills Wife with Gun

Ronald Long wasn't thinking ahead when he killed his wife while hooking up his home with Satellite TV. After fumbling with several methods of getting a hole through his house, through which to run his cable, he decided to whip out his trusty .22 pistol.

After firing twice through the wall, he called out for his wife, Patsy Long, and got no response. He rushed outside to find that he had cleverly placed a hole in his wife's chest as well.

he should file a lawsuit against the company that makes those dishes for not mentioning in their installation guide all the dangers involved when choosing to drill those cable holes with firearms

I'd hope it's fake. Most of the time I read news like this about someone doing something incredibly stupid, I can at least say to myself, "Well, I can sort of understand why he might have thought it was a good idea". This story, though... seriously wtf?

What an idiot. Common sense should tell you that a .22 isn't going to be big enough to fit your cable through. You need at least a .357 for standard gauge cable. I used a .45 when installing mine because I was using the higher grade cable.

Yeah, it's only funny if you kill YOURSELF while doing something like that.

^shooting a .22 at a wall, twice, at close range, is a betterthanaverage way of attempting to kill yourself.

anyway, won't somebody think of the (genetically retarded) children here?

i can't get over the bit the guy says about "bad things happen to good people"... like wtf?
this isn't some accident. it's not like people use .22s all the time to install TV, ffs... luck had NOTHING to do with it.

She was obviously holding the bulletproof glass in front of her face instead of her chest like the instructions for the dish said.

Now, that joke being said, why is there like 2 videos of men shooting at their wives in the top 15?

And they are all from me... mouaaahahahahahah

In reality, I found one as a suggestion of the other on youtube. Having said that, it might be representative of how people here are...I won't finish that sentence. Hmm, hhmm, enjoy.

If he had accidentally shot himself it would be hilarious to me, but since he killed an innocent, it's just not cool. Not at all.

People who hurt themselves for stupidity is completely fair game; they're idiots who exist only to entertain me, but when people who had nothing to do with it are hurt, it is much less funny.

I don't know what all of you are crying about. This is fucking hilarious!

Innocent? She married and bred with a man from Deepwater, Missouri. And if he tried to put a hole in his house with the gun, he'd probably done plenty of other things that should have sent alarms ringing in her ears.

"Buyer beware", I guess I could say.

Idiot....

And we trust these people to be responsible with their firearms? Trust these people with that much power?

Well, in this case, it's a woodsy area so they need firearms in hosehold for protection obviously. But it just goes to show you that relying on 'personal merit' as a safety guarantee just isn't enough.

Isn't it ironic how liberal the argument gets when conservatives tries to defend rights to bear firearms, and vice versa to liberals becoming very conservative on the same subject?

What gets me is the deadpanned delivery of all the newsfolks. What they should have said was, "Folks, you're not going to believe this next story about a moron, a .22 pistol, and a satellite cable. Proof if there ever was that Darwin was right. Take it away, Sandra!"

Kruposays...

I found the story incredibly sad of course, though your guys are evil with the comments. Oh man.

This is technically a vid that shows a real life example of Homer-style gun use - buuuuuut I'm going to withhold adding it to the channel for sentimental reasons.
