You know that classic video with the kid that tries to jump in the pool but miscalculates where the water starts and face-plants on cement... Perhaps that kid learned to swim in this pool.

I'm skeptical. To appreciate this purchase in either form would require wasting time away from our computers.

This is a disgusting display of wasted money.

It is also TOTALLY AWESOME. And kid safe.

What is the point of this pool? No diving board, you can't do laps, no marco polo... I don't get it.

It saves space, its a refreshing retreat in the water on a hot day, it doubles as a beautiful patio, it increases the resale value of the house, it is just a nice feature to have when showing the house off.

It's cool, especially when the water is coming up through it. But, how much of a PITA is it to perform maintenance on it, how often does it need maintenance. If it breaks what happens? Does it just fall through the water or lock into place? How do you get to the parts then?

And even if it does work properly all the time, I can just see the day when someone wants to do a canon ball into it and it's only a few inches or a foot deep.

And like someone else previously posted, if the water freezes is it then useless from that point forward? I would imagine freezing would break nearly every piece of it in some way.

I think they should try to turn it into a hot tub or have the option of it becoming a hot tub, at least then the size of it wouldn't be much different than it's above ground counterpart and you wouldn't have a big box sitting out in your yard/patio/deck/whatever.
