AeroMechanicalsays...You'd have to be pretty ballsy to drive that truck with a big prop spinning over your head on an airplane that may or may not have enough lift to stay up.
BoneRemakesays...meh, I didnt have any doubt. I am sure they are not the first one to have tried it. The first ones, they got balls.
Morganthsays...Pff. I want to see it land without water!
antsays...Didn't battleships, carrying airplanes, do this in WWII?
rychansays...Not sure why the truck is necessary. I guess for stability and to make sure the trailer isn't damaged after lift off.
RedSkysays...= mind (blown)
critical_dsays...I wonder what the takeoff speed is for that plane??
quantumushroomsays...CHEATING.
deathcowsays...We just had a float plane land on the ground here in Alaska... after clipping another plane and killing a family of 4 onboard : (

Pics of plane coming down if you click on the family and go to pic 3 or 4
zorsays...Flying's such a huge part of life there of course you know there's no way to get around it. Very tragic. And since I have a close relative there I'm always concerned. One thing: I'm always puzzled why nobody has come up with an effective retractable or retract/inflatable pontoon. Those things are worse than wire struts as far as drag is concerned. It's like a freaking flying pontoon boat. I've tried to fly model float planes and they are the worst ever.

ForgedRealitysays...If they had had Chuck Norris, he could have just picked up the plane and threw it.

They used extendable catapults to launch float planes abeam and cranes to retrieve them after landing.
zeoverlordsays...You know it's not really safe when a couple of firetrucks are shadowing you during takeoff
Opus_Moderandisays...Well, you learn something useless every day...
bellmansays...Next time I want them to put it on a treadmill.
siftbotsays...Tags for this video have been changed from 'float plane, takeoff, take off, dolly, tow' to 'float plane, takeoff, take off, dolly, tow, pontoon plane, seaplane' - edited by xxovercastxx
