Hideous Spider Beast Trapped By Brave Soldier

Can I get a consensus? Is the camel spider the scariest thing ever or what? They look like the freaking face huggers from aliens only with really large fangs.

Sweet googily moogily. It's times like this I'm glad I live out here in this frozen wasteland we call Canada, where the biggest spider I've ever seen is about the size of a penny.

Alright my bronze star! I can't believe this video is what did it for me! Thanks guys. Especially you Bill O'Reilly!

However, now that I have the power to downvote comments, I feel I must share a fair warning with you all:

Speak of my videos and react to my own comments as you will but mark your words carefully, for my judgement will be harsh, swift and permanent. All will tremble before me!

When I was stationed outside Dubai, somebody emailed me from the homefront to ask if I'd encountered any of these fuckers up close, and I said "no, but when I do, I'll fix bayonets and then run away screaming". They actually turned out to be much smaller than we had thought (I had envisioned a huge beast with a legspan like a dinner plate) and surprisingly timid when we finally were introduced to them (although they can reportedly run at 15 kph and they do have excellent biting skillz).

I can hardly even watch that, it's so disturbing to me. I don't think spiders should exist in nature. They just don't look like something that should BE. Now, I'm not a sophisticated man, but i knows what I likes, and i DON'T LIKES SPIDERS.
and lobsters...? they just look like prehistoric sea spiders from hell. I had one slapped down on a plate in front of me once, and I almost freaked the fuck out.

These actually exist in the southwestern US as well. They don't get nearly as big as the middle eastern ones do, but they are still creepy bastards nonetheless. They are relatively quick creatures, but don't believe the hype about them running 30 MPH. I give you mu word they don't out run you. There are so many rumors about these things that just aren't true, though they are definitely one of the creepier things I've ever come across.

Thank you Overcast. Jeez...

Everybody's all over it when we're force feeding the spiders drugs and watching how screwed up their webs get. (which they die from BTW)

But don't tie them down and point at them!!!

It kind of looks like that guy might have lodged himself like that accidentally too. I mean, how do you get one of those to stand still while you wrap the string around a box a few times?

... You consider this animal cruelty?

Pardon my French but seriously, The fuck is wrong with you people? Never played with bugs when you were little?? How do you think biologists/entomologists get interested in their subjects in the first place?? It's because they played with them, got to observe them, got to love them by doing these kinds of things.

I mean, the guy in the video is showing genuine interest in this species and you guys are trying to stop it.

If you don't allow them to play with these things, then who would be interested in them? And when no one is interested in studying these animals, then why the hell should be bother going extra mile to keep something that is potentially dangerous, alive??

Point is, Let people play around with things to learn and to get to love them for fuck sakes, you overpussified tree fornicators. I hope you all die in a big forest fire while a giant grizzly is mauling your loved ones to death.

"Animal abuse" is a bit dramatic for detainment. He uses the knife as a pointer, he doesn't chop pieces of the thing's legs off.

Look at how that things tied down! Thats abusing a creature in my books and always will be. Watch nature, don't strap it down!

..I spot a $2 bill they're measuring it to.

I see this, because I can't actually watch the video without trying to slam the monitor with my shoe several times if I focus on the main image.
God I hate spiders.

Dirty dirty dirty filthy evil bastard thing.
Do the troops also tie Iraqi children down like that and poke them in the face with a knife?

Because as we all know, poking spiders with a knife is really just a gateway to stabbing kids. It's all peer pressure, and the need to get that sick thrill again and again as the tolerance starts to build up.

I started with earwigs myself, and it's not enough anymore. Let's just say I'm headed down to the old folks' home tomorrow.
