Grenade throwing fail by Chinese Army rookie

"A new recruit threw a hand grenade to the wall and it bounced back at him. He was saved by his captain who dragged him to safety with just 3.5 seconds before the grenade went off." - YT

Amazing that he covered up the grunt to protect him from the blast. And thank goodness there was no roof on that structure (likely intentionally) otherwise the shock wave through the room could have seriously injured a muthafucka.

I think you mean forwards. Upwards could be quite disasterous.

That's not a "grenade". That's a "practice grenade" I doubt if either of them would have been seriously injured even if they hadn't moved, it's just a little bang and some smoke.

xxovercastxxsays...

Oh, ya think so? I'm pretty sure the idea is to throw the grenade out of the "structure" and that would be rather difficult if there weren't any holes.

Perhaps you're unaware because you don't pay attention to mainstream media, but there's this great, new invention called windows. They're basically like big holes in your walls. I know what you're probably thinking: "Those are called doorways, dummy!" I'll tell you why you're wrong. Windows are different from doorways because they usually aren't intended for the passage of persons.

You can learn more about them at WikiPedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Window

That's a pretty elaborate grenade station. In ft.knox all we had was 5by5 foot stacked cinderblocks. there were two corprals sitting on crates, between them was a giant open box of grenades. One of them was smoking a stoggie like in the movies. They tossed one up at me without too much concern. I was nervous as hell, pulled the pin and threw that fucker. I'm a tall sonofabitch so i could see it land and detonate. It landed on target, in a recessed concrete sand box looking thing about 20 yards away. They laughed about how nervous I was when I was walking away.

Looks like a real grenade to me.
They dont go off with giant plumes of fire, just a small puff of smoke and death.

I've thrown hand grenades so I know what they, "go off like". Look at it at 0:07 does that look like a normal hand grenade to you? 'Cause it looks like a training grenade to me.

If you look at 0:42 there seems to be shrapnel damage to the concrete wall.

So despite the abnormal shape, iii'm guessin' those weren't just for practice.. =/

Oh, you got me... I didn't watch that far. I guess the other shot of the grenade was file footage or something.

Up AND forward, I say! And always twirling, twirling, twiiirling!

Full disclosure: I'm not real good at throwing the damn things. Although I have gotten to the point where I usually manage to lob them a reasonable distance instead of spiking them into the ground just past the throwing-bay wall.

Windows? Yeah, right. Those pictures don't show "windows" but poorly designed doors and I bet you wrote that WP article to spread your conspiracy theory.

Wow, I'm surprised that this video has started so many arguements in the comments section. It just doesn't seem like that kind of video. I am glad thet they both survived, but I am concerned that they will Pee-Pee in my Coke as some sort of prank.
