siftbotsays...Self promoting this video and sending it back into the queue for one more try; last queued Monday, August 9th, 2010 8:07am PDT - promote requested by original submitter bleedmegood.
robbersdog49says...Now that, is unnerving.
zorsays...That would cause a bit of a freakout here.
dingenssays...wow, that ... thing is fast!
honkeytonk73says...finland finland finland... the place where I want to be
visionepsays...If I didn't know better I would call this fake.
Everyone knows that Finland is a land of ice and snow. They can't have beaches with people relaxing in shorts and no shirts.
Helsinki is at a similar parallel to Juneau Alaska.
Norsuelefanttisays...Yeah, you would think that Finland is all about polar bears and reindeer, but right now it's actually so hot that people are practically boiling out here!

sholesays...actually the Finnish temperature record has been broken a few times this summer;
37,2c from 35,9c in 1914
here's the (slightly) better quality original of the video;
http://www.hs.fi/thickbox/video/1135259206031
probably better to keep the youtube one though for reliability
the video reminds me a lot of independence day with the space ship moving within the clouds
AeroMechanicalsays...If you squint your eyes a little bit, up until about two thirds of the way through you can imagine it's a 10,000 foot tidal wave coming in.
StukaFoxsays...Apparently, Finnish for "Holy shit!" is "Holy shit!"

Ice and snow? Are you a geographer or a meteorologist? That's quite an ignorant assumption. I haven't been there, but I live in Canada and people often assume that it never gets warm enough to take off my parka. The southern tip of Finland is still north from my parallel, but they have water slide parks and long summer days. Look up vesiliukumäki!
Longswdsays...Looks like Minas Tirith is in for a world of hurt.

Yeah, was thinking the same thing...
xxovercastxxsays...I would love to be in that storm. I hope it strikes that cackling hen.
NetRunnersays...I half expected one of those Independence Day flying saucers to burst out of the leading edge.
castlessays...Cool storm - but how bout that camera work! Calm, deliberate, never shaking around, no banal narration. A-plus, man!
Paybacksays...>> ^castles:

I would have laughed at a single "OMG! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?", though. That would have been classy.
castlessays...Ha, true!

Followed by everyone running screaming as the laser blasts tear up the sand!
mgittlesays...That is what the end of the world looks like.
qualmsays...The sky is falling.
thinker247says...Seconds later, Cthulhu appears from behind the cloud.
