Fox News survery reveals 193% support for the top 3 hopefuls

Fox News: According to the latest Opinion Dynamics poll, support for Palin, Romney, and Huckabee is over the top. Literally.

The underlying data is sound, but the graphic artist was just really really hungry when they asked him to pick out a chart.

"Mmmm...pie..."
"I don't know, man. I think this might be better suited to a bar gra..."
"PIE!"

I doubt any of the fox loyal news viewers would catch the mistake. If they(fox) repubs even want a chance in 2010 they shuld go with Huckabee. He's the only one I would consider voting for out of that bunch!

Drachen_Jagersays...

That is possible if you were allowed to pick more than one person for the survey. Bad way to display the data if that was the case though...

TheFreak: Yeah, well he SAID he believed in god now and he would go to church every sunday! Isn't that good enough for you?

Romney has some judgement problems too, he once went on a car trip with his family and there wasn't enough room for the dog inside the car, so he strapped the pet carrier to the roof, when brown streaks started appearing in the rear window he just stopped at a gas station, sprayed it off and kept going. That's part one of his bad judgement... Part two was, when asked about a time where he'd showed good judgement in the past he decided to share the above story... (I am not making this up!)

I think the data was supposed to represent what % of the GOP base would back each candidate. As demon_ix pointed out, the flaw was in the use of a pie chart rather than a bar chart. I love how Fox's production department is actually an editorial department. Too bad for them that they are dumb. They're taking Kirk Cameron's advice to "bypass the intellect".

It seems likely they forgot a decimal point(s), and the total that would vote for ANY of the 3 is 19.3% Of course, those at Faux News don't have the book learning needed to do this kind of higher (above 2nd grade level) math, so there's no surprise here.
Where is QM? He should be posting here supporting Faux News and explaining how these numbers are correct.

Don't people understand the difference between a local fox station and the fox news network? This is from a local fox affiliate in Chicago, and not the national fox news network. There is a difference, and the implication is that this video is from the fox news network, which it is not. I'm not even American and I know this!

Comment upvoted because it's true, but this isn't "FOX 5 - The Right Channel In Podunk, Nowhere", this is Fox Chicago, an affiliate in the third largest city in the nation. They should have the resources to attract talent that doesn't make these sorts of mistakes.

Besides, it's fun to bash ideologues.
