Flying a Mexican flag in the USA is UN-AMERICAN

newtboysays...

Hey dumb bitch, in America you can display any flag you wish. Ever seen the UN?
This should end up being a commercial for her opponent in the city council race.

What a fucking piece of shit. Really! this is what bothers her? And you can clearly hear the woman say (in spanish) that they also have an american flag on the other side, which she somehow makes a point of not showing... must have been accidental. Like the way her parents dropped her on her head when she was a new-born.

America needs to get over their obsession with their flag, it's seriously creepy. Walking through some nondescript hallway in JFK the other day and there were was like 30 of the things littering the place for no reason. There's being proud of your country and your flag, then there's this level of obsession. In America, the Holy Trinity is God, Jesus and the Flag

She should come to Minnesota and tear down all the Norwegian/Swedish/Finnish flags you can find in this state.

Oh, wait. She wouldn't object to those, because those are white people's heritage.

Are you fucking kidding me? It's called nationalism, and America is far from alone in having it. Yeah we like our flag, but that's because it is a symbol of our country and in general, despite it's faults, we love our country.
We also believe that people have the right to burn our flag, piss on it, wipe their ass with it, or whatever they want to do with as a freedom of expression. But whatever you do, don't get spanked on the ass with the Mexican flag! Oh and by the way, this woman is a complete ignorant bitch. Couldn't watch the whole video, due to her stupidity. It's America, fly whatever fucking flag you want, but if you're American just fly ours higher out of respect.

Which America are you talking about? It may "legally" be allowed, but anyone doing anything as simple as spit on the ol' stars and stripes would get you lynched (figuratively in some areas, literally in others). It's not just nationalism, it's worship and it's everywhere.

The only time you see the Australian flag come out everywhere in Australia is during Australia Day (aka Strayaday) or some world sporting/competition event, and you'll find that pretty typical of other countries. Not even Britain (who has/had an actual empire) is obsessive with their flag like America.

America, like your flag, respect your flag, just tone it down a bit. K?

What gets my goat is, most of the flag waiving zealots don't even familiarize themselves with the official 'rules' for displaying a flag. For instance, I see them wearing flag pants, shirts, socks, underwear, hats, scarves, etc. ALL of these are considered desecration and denigration of the symbol and are clearly not allowed. Neither is displaying a flag at night without proper lighting, or leaving it outside in the rain if it's not made for all weather flying (most aren't). Displaying a flag sticker mounted backwards on your car (a thing I see all the time) is really bad. There are many rules for properly displaying an American flag that most flag waivers ignore completely in their zeal to show how much they love the flag. Sometimes it's really hard to be proud to be an American.

There are many reasons to be proud for being an American, but in the last 50 years, too many reasons to be embarrassed have cropped up. It would be great if America could return to a country that earns the respect of others, rather than demands it. That will take some time, however.
