Gay folks are just folks, Bob. They go to movies, they read books, they eat food. They watch TV. They go the gym. The talk to their parents. They have children. They laugh. They breathe. They work, they pay taxes, they cry, they serve in the military, they die. They are human beings, exactly like you in every way that matters.

I don't debate that gay people are normal in every other way that straight people are. However, people have a choice of being gay. Being of a certain race is not a choice. I gather it feels more "normal/ natural" to those who are gay to have a same sex partner. But does that make it alright to be gay? Is the argument then if it makes me feel natural/ normal than I should be allowed to be gay?

I'm not here to bash gays or anything like that. I'm just asking for a coherent and logical reason that being gay is ok. I have yet to hear one.

I think asking for logical reasons is fair.

Individual behavior is assumed to be permissible unless it creates costs for others.

People expressing themselves and having fulfilling love lives is considered to be good for society.

I agree, Dan Savage is a quality dude. Not to mention Mr. Colbert. It's nice to see a practicing Catholic/Sunday school teacher supporting the cause.
