Duckman33*promote
siftbotSelf promoting this video and sending it back into the queue for one more try; last queued Thursday, July 15th, 2010 1:51pm PDT - promote requested by original submitter Duckman33.
kronosposeidonAlso reported on the BBC. I hope it's true too. And it only took them 3 months to do it.
siftbotAdding video to channels (Eco, Water) - requested by kronosposeidon.
LarsaruSPhotoshoped! You can see it in the pixels
Just had to do it. Sorry.
If true, awesome!
If not true, Awesomer! (I know it's not a word but it should be along with awesomest)
Imagine the backlash if it was faked.

xxovercastxx*brief
Maybe they didn't plug it; maybe it just ran out of oil.
(No, I'm not serious)

I was told earlier today that the U.S. Navy (finally) arrived on the scene just a few short days ago. I haven't confirmed yet what their role in this was, but I am not up to praising BP for this. The navy should have been invited to step in April 21st.
NordlichReiterSomeone has to say it, "I call bullshit."

westyThe best thing annyone could do is block it up and then let nature deal with the oil in the sea ,
the only thing people can do is clean of animales and do a better job with the coast lines that are affected, oh and if possable try and shift the oil father out to see.
because this is not refined oil and is litraly natural oil it will degrade over time through the sea and bacterea braking it down , unfortunatly no dobt companies will spray laods of shit on it and actualy do more damage than has alredy been done,
Abel_Priscsays...Not sure if this has already been discussed elsewhere, but NPR gave a bit more insight into this a few hours ago. According to BP, this is only a "test", to see if the cap will sustain the pressure. Over the course of the next month, they'll be trying to figure out whether or not the cap will be enough.
If they decide that the cap won't do the trick, the will remove it, allowing oil to gush out into the gulf once more, and "explore other options".
BP apparently stressed that this is not the resolution that Fox News made it out to be in this brief video. Hopefully they cleared up the meaning behind this later on in the coverage.
LarsaruSYea, it is a test that will last for between 24-72 hours unless the pressure gets too high/drops too low (explosion risk/leak further down in the system) They will move in 4 ships and start pumping the oil up after the test is complete.
